    Cheers for that M8.
I thought it went direct to the pcb. Probably blown cause of the holes in the door gasket 😛

    Thanks

    Re: Whirlpool askoll wash motor

They stopped fitting askoll pumps due to the failure rate. Replacement pump is same as the earlier pump. There will be bolts for mounting in with the pump.

That’s most likely a single flash, new ntc should cure it.

Count the flashes on the start button. Single flash is NTC.
It’s a whirlpool machine, rest of the codes are posted.

    Thanks for that Dave.
Just had a look and it indicates a faulty inlet valve. As the valve is opening and closing ok I’m doubtful that’s the problem.
Mind you, I’ll take one along just incase, along with a heater and stats.

There’s a possibility of the wiring in the door being broken. Check the wiring where it leaves the door to enter the base of the machine.
Remember to turn the power off before doing anything though.

    Yes, you’ve pinpointed your leak.
The grommet in the roof of the cavity does perish and water runs down into the base from there. As far as I remember there are two sizes of grommet. Dave Conway will be able to identify and supply you with one.
I’ve got part number 481240110258, again Dave can advise if this has been superseded

    Re: Customer Comments

Just read the thread you referred to Martin. You did the right thing. The guy’s a loony. He wants his machine repaired here for free, even if it means bypassing safety mechanisms.
This is the type of intellect I saw offshore, get it going at any cost, except financial.
I have no time for this type of person at all and his email to you is nothing short of rudeness and ignorance.
Off me soap box now. 😛

Think you’ll find it’s in the instructions about opening the door on a Whirlpool machine.
It’s certainly in the Whirlpool training literature.
You’ll get the best results using seperate powder and rinse aid, adding extra rinse aid may help, but too much rinse aid may cause it to foam up and flood the base.

Unfortunately there is no solenoid on this machine.
It was the water valves opening and closing rapidly that was making the noise.
Thanks to all for the help, I know I made it a bit difficult though by not putting the full model number. For some reason I’ve got a mental block on the model number of this machine, probably cause I hate it so much 😛

Just to let you know the outcome. Bypassed the door switch, no difference. Cleaned out the pressure system, no difference. Checked all the earths, tightened connections all over the place. Still no difference. Fitted a new pump as old one was intermittently sticking. Still not working.
Gave up and changed the motor, pigging thing appears to be OK now.
Don’t really understand why as the motor checks out OK on the meters.
    Not to worry, customers happy.

    Re: Wet dishes

Sorry, just reread and it’s not too clear that I was referring to Whirlpool machines regarding opening of door.
Bauknecht is made by whirlpool so plastic won’t dry too well in your machine and opening the door at the end of the program should help.

    Re: Wet dishes

Make and model would be handy.
However, Whirlpool made dishwashers for instance, don’t dry plastics.
This is because the final rinse is a very hot rinse and the drying is done by residual heat. As plastic doesn’t hold or conduct heat very well they don’t dry. Another thing that people forget or fail to do is open the door at the end of the cycle to allow any build up of steam to escape (don’t have to do this on the turbo dry machines). If the door isn’t opened then the steam condenses back onto the dishes.
    Hope this helps.
