You’re right. It’s 9318 and if i remember rightly there’s only 4 or 5 wires to the timer? (least that’s all I saw when I had a quick look inside).
I’d really appreciate either the diagram or sketch with colour codes.
    Thanks.

    Hiya,
Fan motor meters out ok. No power getting to it though.

Count the flashes on the led above the start button. It should flash a sequence, pause, then repeat the seaquence. Post the result here and someone will answer.
You may still have a warranty, have you spoke to Whirlpool? Your date of purchase is the completion date.

Went to see it today, fan isn’t running but couldn’t see any trace of stats or thermistors for switching it. Have gambled and ordered a pcb. See how it pans out.

    Hiyas,
Just want to say thanks for all the input and special thanks to Iadom for the circuit diagram. I have to admit to being a divvy, managed to cross 2 wires on the power board, P4 and P7, sorted in seconds once I had the diagram. Now, just got to find the bit of paper with the details of the Daewoo fridge freezer. 😳

    Re: Hotpoint WD71

Sorry, already been through all that. There’s definitely no feed coming from the power pcb. So, unless Ive got a couple of wires on wrong (P4 and P7 spring to mind) I ain’t got a clue what’s wrong.
I do know that the boards have been changed though, power board no longer has the huge transformer on it and according to the instructions all wiring is still the same.

    Re: Hotpoint WD71

Everything works apart from the motor. Only one ribbon from the front control to the power pcb and it’s keyed. All the other wiring (I did a rough sketch before changing) is as it was. The problem is, two power boards and nothing coming out of them to the motor. I can accept one board being a duffer but two? It’s driving me nuts this one.

Got a new power board today but the fault still persists.
Machine is a WD71N. New control board, new power board, new pressure switch and new door lock fitted.
No power coming from power board to motor. Anyone any ideas?

    Thanks

    Re: Hotpoint WD71

Went back to it today armed with armfuls of spares. Fitted the new front pcb, dryer no longer runs at switch on. Still no power coming out of the power pcb to the motor. Got another new one out, opened the box and found a piggin gas valve. What on earth am I going to do with a gas valve??? 😳
Have ordered yet another power pcb. Have to see what happens tomorrow.
I’d already checked the wiring harness and no chaffed wires, no shorts either.

    Re: Hotpoint WD71

Original fault was not filling properly, took lid off, switched on and the power board went bang. Luckily for me, customer was there and knows I’d not touched the machine. Went back today with a power board and pressure switch, fitted them, switched on and display came up as usual with select programme. However, the tumble dryer fan kicked in before anything was selected. Tried selecting a programme, machine started to fill but came up with E30 during filling. Motor checks out OK on the meter and still no motor action with a new motor. Checked and found no power going to motor.
Can only think the user board is more than just a selector. have ordered up front board, power board and door interlock. Problem I have is I can’t figure out why it’s kicking in the t/d fan.

You have to fit the complete kit, as Dave said, it’s a different design and the syphon is different.

Also some Whirlpool machines do this. Had two exchanged before Whirlpool decided to tell us about it. 😛
Only way to tell is start it going, hang around while it heats and drain some into a bucket, see if it’s hot. 😳
