Hi singist
Welcome to the site.
I think before you start sending letters etc to De Dietrich or whoever you should take a read of this article which deals with the two year guarantee myth, the six year rule, burden of proof and durability.
Under the Sale of Goods Act your redress is against the retailer and sadly since they are no longer trading I think you are going to have to bite the bullet and accept you will not get a FOC repair.HTH 🙂

Hi
It’s a Delonghi made appliance sold exclusively by Curry’s. If you want one badly you can order one from Currys Partsmaster here but it aint cheap 😯

Interesting that JL have a scrappage deal when buying Siemens, I’m going to assume they’ll accept my old machine with a broken handleThey`ll take any washer to be fair 😀
It`s a Siemens backed promotion as per this link and a darned good one at that 😉

Hi
Taking your criteria into consideration 😉 I have come up with my top three and added the Panasonic of which I am not that familiar with as they are new to the UK. I must admit that the Panasonic does read very well in the comparison link here.
There was a thread here from a little while ago re Panasonic machines which is well worth a read.
If it were me I`d go for either ther Bosch or the Siemens, both from the same stable and well established in the UK, good back up and a two year warranty as well.
HTH 🙂

ModeratorRe: Falcon, Smeg, Ilve? Help!
Hi Susan
Falcon range cookers are very well thought of here in the UK for being a quality machine. Ilve on the other hand isn’t represented here as it’s an Australian brand by the looks of it, as for the Smeg models quoted they are also exclusive to your neck of the woods.
Moved you down to the Australian forum as there are a few posters down there who may be able to offer you a more detailed answer on the brands and models in question.

ModeratorRe: markup on new machines
Hi squadman
It`s much easier to add say 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} or 45{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} to the cost price ex the VAT, that way should you sell a higer priced machine your margin increases as well 😀
We use 45{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} as our margin markup on distributor stock and a little higher if it’s purchased direct from manufacturer.
