I would stick with neff and as you want them next to each other they would need to be both new, look at B15M62N3 for both topped with a neff hob

Reading your first post it reads as if you havnt been to the range cooker, glad you have decided to actually call and use your tools to diagnose the fault and after testing the components you will almost certainly discover what is wrong, if not then come back and tell us what you have tested.

He wants us to diagnose the fault for him, so he can turn up and fix first time, he would hopefully have a terminal block on his van in his van stock if it turns out to be this.

Bryan is talking rubbish, they remove like any other hob, this really is an easy job to do, your putting a new hob in so you just need to get the silicone. Easy money mate!

Not a problem, clean off silicone and refit with a new self adhesive seal, always have few on the shelf. Dosnt everyone carry one? You always get the odd hob that the seal is stuck to the worksurface or destroyed by grease, so put a new one on and charge customer accordingly.

Its rebated in to the granite, so sits on a ledge so to speak, but you need about 1 to 2mm gAp around the hob for expansion so this needs to be filed otherwise food and liquids will get in. The hob glass is specifically designed to do this, the edge is very square profile. I havd fitted quite a few,

Acid and acetone free silcons are not unusual, franke produce a glass sink that also needs this type of silicon.
