Easy way to check on the hose is to go outside remove the grill and put your hand in go check the hose is connected and not kinked, you can also gather the hose together neater. When happy put he grill back on.

Go back to the retailer and ask for your money back, you can reject it as it obviously had a fault when you bought it. Full refund.

Not wearing a seatbelt dosnt mean you will die! Using this cooker incorrectly carries a high risk you will, thats why a modification recall was issued! Not the best comparison and humans have a tendency to make errors, dosnt mean the punishment should be death when they do!

Get your self a bosch built in machine, its a bit more than your budget but worth it, you will need to have the cabinet door redrilled so get a professional to install it who should have a hinge jig to do this.
If as suggested you get a freestanding machine you will need to cut the plinth as this will look unsightly and the machine will stick out as the depth is greater

I sometimes wonder why instructions are never read, out of every 10 hobs i see only 2 will be installed correctly, from just laying them on the worktop to grip filling them in, wired to a plastic terminal block taped up to wired into the back of the oven.

Had it on 8 months now and only hired out twice, connect nor bissell have marketed it properly. Might be the customers i get as they tend to have fancy floors, i tell you what though i have used it and it is very good, works really well.
