If anyone, like me, uses Tom tom 2 or 3 on a PDA, then you may be interested to know that the upgrade to the new TT5 has just been released (to order, e59). It features full uk postcodes which the older version lacked. 😆 http://www.tomtom.com

Hope you dont use, like me, a Toshiba though as it wont work until a newer version in the Autumn. 😥

As with most censorship, it evokes interest in an otherwise no noticed subject. I find myslef desperate to see what his avatar was as I cannot remember anything out of the ordinary.

Maybe time to switch of the avatar option?

Thanks Martin, I guess that may be the one. I remember some of the wires fitted straight off while others had to be cut and shut.

Mark , Did you know The Pogues played as backing musicians on that track. Great song and you saw it being written……fantastic.
You should try and listen to the two albums mentioned on my original post as I think you`d like them from what you`ve written.

My favourite album and surprisingly not mentioned so far , Never Mind The Bollocks by The Sex Pistols. My two sons aged 10 and 5 also like this album but I have to keep them away from “Bodies” good song though it is.

Anyway I`m going to check out Teenage Fanclub as they`re Scottish and have been recommended a few times to me previously.

Bandwagonesque was just a great TFC album although the single “god knows its true” and ” Everything Flows” should also be eeked out. Their albums since then have been good but not quite hit the mark. Other great scottish bands have to have been Mogwai, JAMC, Primal Scream, Arab Strap and Belle and Sebastien.

Yes I was aware of the Pogues connection and at the time I was an occasional touring crew member for The Men They Couldnt Hang whom were always rather unfairly compared with the Pogues. (and hung out in the same pub which is now unfortunatly a Goth pub as I found out last year after arranging to meet a friend there, a most uncomfortable lunchtime it was too)

As for my own favorites, as Ken says you are stirring up a hornets nest here. (I was banned from a NASCAR forum like this for turning every thread into a music thread).
I have 2 catorgries, 1 for life changing albums that are not nesessarily played too much these days: The Clash first Album, Ramones first album fall into this catorgry.
The others are for albums that are regularly played: The Flaming Lips Soft Bulleten and Wilco’s Summerteeth or Yankee, Hotel,Foxtrot. Anything from Spiritualized, Teenage fan club, Yo LA Tengo, EELS.

As for favorite Bands, difficult to choose as moods dictate but Ill go for The Butthole Surfers, My Bloody Valentine, Flaming Lips, the Pogues, The Clash, Spaceman/Spiritualized….oh and Tom Waits.

Best album of last year had to Modest Mouse “Good news for people who love bad news”

No, its not only you, its often ME who does that even after only 10 minutes ago warning the customer not to do that!

My worse Sink story concerns me emptying a bowl full of gunky, grungy dishwasher pressure chamber water and slime over 2 large T bone steaks that were defrosting in the sink.
