    Chris.

What happened to him Chris? or was he the only one that didnt make it big with either The Beautiful South or Fatboy Slim? The housemartins were great by the way.

I think he may be thinking of a commercial fridge plant compressor which often look like a “compressor” as opposed to a sealed domestic type. I am sure an old paint sprayer compressor could be picked up cheaper though.

What has that got to do with Gorenje? And the German made Ocaen was actualy a nice piece of equipment.

I dont think that will work at all as compressors and air dont go together too well + a load of oil in his balls may not be that helpfull.

I didnt say they were rubbish, but I cannot imagine anyone here took the lid off a 95 Hotpoint and proclaimed it a superb piece of engineering. For most of us it was our first plastic tub experience for a start, they were noisy as hell even when empty, the doors were crap, as was the pressure system and the very same bearings that were not so bad on the metal backplates suddenly failed in droves. And Tony, yes EMW must have done well out of those timer tags melting. Compared to the quality machines at the time AEG Bella/2003 and the 560/570 and the heavy old Bosch’s, they were junk. But yeah, time has told its own story and there are plenty still going strong and somehow I am pleased to see one in the kitchen when I walk in knowing that just the brushes wearing out wont have blown the damn timer and interlock etc, etc.

    Re: Dear BSH-Man…..

Are the interlocks getting water on them ala whirlpool /Brandt style dribbles from the dispenser running down inside (you did mention the oversoaping issue)? If not what is making the locks go?
I am with Martin here, never had a Bosch interlock blow in any way since the really really oldV646 style with the square locks. and the odd dead machine due to an interlock failure. Bosch is now the most common make we repair and yet I have never changed a control board for any reason. (dont mention the dishwashers though)

    Re: Repairs@ Features

It seems that all the jobs we get passed state the prefferred method of reply as E mail, We then fire off a return email which they then return and it all ends in a phone call anyway (assuming they havn’t gone to the online booking on our own site) or they are never heard of again. Wondering if changing the default to telephone rather than Email may be in order as we can then phone them and make an appointment straight away. If they dont want us to phone then they can select that option on the form.

Could be just a bad connection somewhere. Could be tricky to find though and would suggest expert help.

Re: Ariston FV4 Electric Fan Oven Not Working

sounds like it is still on auto setting, even we struggle to set timers to manual sometimes and I cannot tell you how to do it, suggest you try and find the instruction book. A good way to try is to switch the oven on, and then play with the clock buttons, when you hit the right combination, it will burst into life.
