    Re: UK Whitegoods Meeting No.3

Stafford? Nuneaton? they are all just stations on the train out of Euston to me! Ask me where Deadhorse, Alaska or some obscure racetrack in The Carolinas are and I will know where the heck we are talking about.
Why is it called the Black country anyhow? Didnt “Pop will eat itself” come from there?

Seriously though, can we narrow it down a bit or are we just wandering around this Stafford place all day and night?

When you say Stafford I guess you mean the same place as last time, Right? Ill be up for it, where do we respond officially? Here? Last time we had an email address specifically I think.
Kens idea about Friday seems good to me.

oh, and MS should be disqualified. No way can you make a pitstop and come out infront of those who did not pit. he must have overtaken the safety car in the pit lane which is not allowed as it is the same as passing it on the track. You would think at Indy of all places they would know how to deal with a pace car period, the pit lane should be closed on the first such lap anyway.

done lots, (Assuming you mean a semi intergrated that is)stick a slotted screwdriver up under the handle, twist and wiggle (the screwdriver I mean!) and shake the door, it will open with no damage other than the lock which was already broken in the first place.
This is also a common Smeg/Diplomat problem on the fully intergrated which need shaking and pulling to release.

By the way, this is a British Built dryer and not as Bosch as you may think! Dont pay too much for it.

Find the “FD number” it will be on the rating plate possibly inside the door or maybe on the rear. This will have 4 digits, add 20 to the first 2 digits and you will have the year and month of manufacture. eg FD7911 = November 1999.

    Re: Indesit Evolution WDE 12.

Maybe a long shot but we had one of these I started a thread about some time back and the answer was the dry thermistor on the top, the spade terminals were connected by insulation only, give em a gentle tug to check.

A bit OT but does anyone know (Tony?) what use is made of what appears to be a communication socket on these modules that is accessed through a removable plactic cover throught the cabinet rear with the module in situ?

    Re: Ariston Margherita 2000 ( AWD 10 UK ) Problem – please h

IMO Bosch is nowdays no better than any mid range washing machine, If its a washer dryer you need, not recommended but if thats what you want, the Bosch one is ok but you must go for the one about £800, the £500 one is a heap of trash. If its just a washer you want Miele or Asko are the ones to go for but neither are cheap but you wont be throwing them out after 18 months.
As for your Ariston, maybe you should get someone in as it may not be so bad, even so, dont expect a long life from it.

All I know is that as of 5 years ago or so, Hotpoint engineers were instructed to turn around and walk out it they came across this. Dont know if that is still the case.
Its differrent for us who need to cover our costs so I ditto Kens words, write on the invoice that you recommend that the appliance must be moved and not operated in that position and get the customer to sign the statement. No doubt we would still be liable in the event of an accident though.

    Re: old belling door hinges

You need hinge socket kit part number AS632490 and follow the instructions regarding drilling alternative holes in the black square mounting blocks. (pedastal drill is best for this as you need it straight and in the right place!) This takes up the wear in the door frame (long obsolete) and works everytime for us.

anyone out there got any old fromat swing out hinges? as these are now obsolete.

Missed the prog but Pimlico Plumbers are very well known in the London area due to their van number plates LAV1, BOG1 etc. Not such a hot reputation though.

I think most of us here will find it quite odd that you can still get a 800rpm spin machine anyway. Here nowdays even 1000rpm is becoming rare.
