    Re: Ariston Margherita 2000 ( AWD 10 UK ) Problem – please h

That model is not recognised in the UK so we cannot point you in the right direction other than how Penquin descibed above. If you have got a filter it will be designed for the user to clean out and will not tax you left hands too much.

Pierre, post your model number as a French Ariston could literaly be anything and some do not have filters or if they do some are designed for engineers only to remove. If you have a filter it will be obvious as Penguin said but the fact you asked the question in the first place may mean you have not got one.
    Bonne chance!

Ah, but being Italian that would be something like this:
    Merci Elettriche Superbly Fatte

OK SMEG hardly rolls of the tongue ( no pun intended or even thought about there!)
    But MESF?

This is a typical indesit story, a model number will be identical or maybe a uk instead of a gb after it and it will be a totaly different machine.

Yeah, back up Dave and Martin, the Heater causes all sorts of odd faults on this one, disconnect it (its right at the front once the front panel under the door is off). You should also be able to click the timer on using a torx screwdriver and they even include a timer disc in the bottom moulding, assuming another engineer hasnt knicked it. Dont forget to re set the timer to the end of programme position otherwise you will get a recall as the start button wont work.

    Re: Why do Customers ……….

Yep, same thing with a Hotpoint, someone took the top weight off along with the transit bracket across the top. I was there to do the carbons some 5 years later and, as far as I know its still in that state now as they wpi;dnt believe me and didnt want to pay. Made the brush change real easy though.

oh,Penguin I remember those motors well, would be sweet on wash then suddenly turn into a catherine wheel once the spin kicked in.

I thought this model had a hoop type element, nothing like the hotpoint version, no? You really sure that is held tightly down? some of the later, faster spinning versions of this machine sufferred loose heater problems which are not very nice at 1300rpm believe me. Oh and check the air bell or you may be needing another one.

I went to a customer today who reported a non-existent fault on his cooker hood. He knew what the problem was of course, he was no amateur, he’d worked on industrial gas turbines in the past!

Well they’re so similar aren’t they!

Sorry, you have lost me on this one 😕 Please explain a little 😳

    Martin

I presume he means that, being someone so clever as turbine engineer, something like a cooker hood would be far easier and simple and easy to repair but he just hasnt the time to do so, hence mr Washdoctor is called out. We get the same thing from aircraft engineers who usually ask for brushes for their servis induction motors and stuff.

Royston, Herts is the first paper around here I have had a report of the add being in. Perhaps Royston Vesey would have been a more suitable location for this set up!

May be a silly question but is the door locking? If not then it could well be the lock and its a cheap option to try first. If that doesnt work, call somone in.

    Re: Hygena ADP 8132.

Its usually the console broken where the latch hooks into. You have to change the whole console to cure it, not expensive though, and if you do, there is a little black plastic guide that sits above the latch that does not come on the new console, you have to swop it and its easily missed.

Thanks for that, probably what I was expecting really. I thought the bit a bout bearings really funny. How many flashes is it for bearing failure then!
Connecting one up to a laptop would do our proffesional image no end of good though. We could hook it up, surf ukwhitegoods for 20 mins and then tell the customer the bearings have gone and its scrap, basicaly. At least we may have justified a decent call charge out of that.

I just read that guy’s (Paul Carrack) and he has had an interesting life. I remember Ace as being one of the bands we destroyed in 1976/7 but then he turns up with the undertones and the Smiths. that is crazy! thanks for enlightening me Martin but I will pass on the offer of a cd thanks all the same.
oh and Dave, i know Polly Harvey lives your way, a customer maybe? If you should see her remind her of the old days at the White Horse Hampstead and the lurch crowd! ( I guess you had to be there)
