    K.

check between the lips of the new seal. it may already be loaded with grease and, if you use black grease, make your first wash a dark one ❗ or better still a real hot wash empty.

Assuming its not had one before (you can tell by the rubber tube and 2 jubilee clips connecting it to the tub) you have to cut the old one off (Hacksaw!) to replace it. It comes as a kit with the afformentioned rubber tube and clips. Its not tricky to change but you need to take the side and base off and make sure the door spring clears the chamber before putting the side back on (open and shut the door to test) and make sure no water leaks into the drain pump plug as it will go bang if it does. Up to a couple of years ago we were changing these often 2 times a day everyday and then doing it again 18 months-2 years later, it was a good earner, sadly now done rarely.
Sorry, no part number to hand, and I am away tommorrow, I am sure someone else will post it before then, about £30= vat.

    Re: Common Faults

Thats a good one, you can really amaze a customer by draining their machine just by dropping the hose on the floor, preferebly in a container of some sort. (I suppose we could start a whole thread about drain hoses that appear to be alive and have a mind of their own and never quite want to stay where we might want them to stay…)
This same customer, who you have so impressed, will then be totaly nonplussed by the way you have just repaired their expensive module to component level and will complain at the charge!

much needed day off today, will post tommorow. I seem to remember they just called it a “inverter magnatron” but I will dig the receipt out and see what it says. It fitted and worked ok though. BTW the Neff built in models are the same Panasonic made ones.

if it’s no heat and a magnetron or pcb failure replace both as the mags are causing the pcb’s to fail due to poor quality magentrons, guess where they are produced (the magnetrons) – the UK 😮

    Dave.

Yeah Dave, i found that out….
    …the expensive way! 😯

But the good news is that AWI do a reasonably priced mag and QER can sort out the inverter.

Re: “Cookers” – supplied by Bernstein Group PLC –

It seems Bernstien are playing on the success of Glenn Dimplex using the name “Stoves” but “cookers” doesnt really work does it. Be wary though as Bernstien have been in a bit of finacial turmoil lately and although they seem to be ok now, you never know.

Anyone out there still got access to Panasonic’s pananet web site? They closed my account due to lack of use but I could do with a download of any inverter microwave service manual.

TBH £100 sounds a bit much bearing in mind a £180-200 retail at best here.
