Post your postcode here and maybe one of us will be able to help you, or look up if someone is near in the directories section here.

Mark, i think that was a typo on daves part, he was just trying to emphasise not to shut the door until HE gave you the instruction to do so a few lines further down.
Re read what he said and try again, you need to press the start button 4 times quickly before the display lights up (or just the leds if that is all that is on your machine excuse us but there are loads of differrent versions of these and as i am in the garden I cannot look up your particular model) It may take a few attempts to get all the lights to come on as instructed so keep trying from the beginning if it doesnt first work out. Once done follow the rest of the instructions carelfully or you may well get stuck in a test programme.eastlmark

with the same contempt as BSH do now.I am not sure that was the case, was it? As far as I know the Brand is new in this country, using their own name that is, but we all have had years of experience of their ovens and fridges and the odd washers with differrent and very well known brand names on.

Dave is right, we used to work this way very succesfully with Philco, Candy and Bauknecht. All of which were unheard of brands, generally, yet we sold loads of them as the customer always knew where to come should they go wrong. One by one they all dropped our service either by being swallowed up by Whirlpool and their wonderful service, or gone mainstream such as Candy did, or like Philco eventually neglect their trusty sales/service agents in favor of the lure of big sales of the sheds. They have all floundered since too, 2 of them virtualy dissapeared here and the other one, well who would want to sell those now.
Having said all that, i am not sure there are enough of us sales/service businesses around anymore in order to carry out a national coverage which is why I thought the BSHGorenje thing was a good selling point.eastlmark
ModeratorRe: Dyson Washing Machine?
Thanks Lawrence, they are very interesting…
…so the rumour of 2 motors are true….but they seem to be driving the same thing! and double the amount of carbons must be good news for us
Other than that the plastic tub looks just like anyother these days aside from that geared drive at the bottom.By the way, what was the fault?

I was thinking it was maybe the average waiting time for a manufacturers service call.

Just a thought before ordering expensive modules etc, check the pump is not open circuit, you never know.

K.
Followed by “I would return to the retailer ” no doubt !

What would you expect? Them to actually repair the damn thing! No, much better go to the reatailer demand a refund and go and buy a Bosch next time at least they know how to switch them on.
Mind you, faced with a bearing change on a Gorenje or a Bosch Maxx I know which one I would chose….and it doesnt start with a B.

ModeratorRe: Gorenje
If you had asked that a month ago I would have said they are reliable machines. We have sold them for about the same length as you and have had few complaints. But we recently (see the “do you sell appliances” thread) had a wa162 fail after 6 months with serious bearing failure and we had to exchange it due to the service agents,BSH appliance care, failure to get it sorted quickly. Admittedly its our only known failure so far but it was the top of the range appliance and not exactly cheap. They are pretty basic and look easy to fix but unless Appliance care get themselves together Or Gorenje make other arrangements, (hint hint) even a minor problem can became a major situation as I think their engineers have little if any product training and treat the brand as second rate alongside thir usual Bosch/Siemens work.
Bare also in mind that they hav’nt been around more than 18 months or so in this country and as most had a 2 year warranty us indies here probably have not had too much experience on them yet. Dont let me put you off selling them because quite frankly, I wouldnt know what else to recommend that is any better and at least the sheds are not full of them.eastlmark
ModeratorRe: Why do Customers ……….
……….order whirlpool oven door hinges…..complain at the cost we would charge to fit them…..come back the next day and order a outer door glass which “just dropped off when we tried to fit the hinges with the door still on the oven” 😆

ModeratorRe: Citroen Relay
I cannot understand that Alex, I had a rented connect while my Dispatch was being fixed and it felt like going back to the dark ages. Reminded of me of the days of the Beford viva vans! No one who drove it ever wanted to even sit in one again.
As for the Relay, I have no experience as its a bit of a big beast isnt it? But we have never had any serious issues with either Berlingos or dispatches, (touching wood) and I guess, like our trade, the service depends on how good the local agent is. And, as with anything French, just dont keep it too long (that includes girlfriends)eastlmark

cannot help but notice that someone has moved the goalposts with regard to the avatars. Not only that but Dave Conway changes his on a daily basis (sounds like someone with too much spare time on his hands :rotfl:)
