ModeratorRe: New drum for AEG 72620 Lavamat washing machine?
I would stick with that machine as its a good one but the baffles have been replaced with new types that screw in. The downside is that the inner drum has to be removed in order to fit the screws that are supplied with the new baffles. Although not particularly difficult to do as the front comes off on this machine, it is not exactly DIY and you probably need someone to do it for you.
Post your postcode here and maybe someone can help you or look up a local agent in the directories section.eastlmark

Yep it is the water supply hose. The hose outer sheath resembles the waste but it has an inner hose (blue and about half inch) and cable for the anti-flood device running through it. The tilers have given it a good pull and it has come off from within the machine. It will just push back on as the spring clip has come off with it but I can’t see where it goes back on. Have you any idea which component it would attach to – pump or resevoir etc?
Cheers
You need disconnect from the electrical supply and remove the right hand (when you are facing the front of the appliance) side panel. It fits onto a plastic moulding in the botton rear corner.
They must have given it one hell of a tug though for that to come off and I would check the wiring that also runs through the outer casing of that hose a check too before plugging it in again.eastlmark

[Seriously though, we will buy genuine parts almost every time. with regards to your own spares, we do not get offered any special offers direct from you but depend on the wholesalers. (Check your price of C00023884 fan element for example) Compare that to Electrolux who have a constant list of special prices and even take offers on expensive AEG spares. If you were to mail us with monthly offers we would do far more business directuote]
We send special offers out to the trade accounts every month. This has recently been on offer and has been taken by most of my accounts. It is currently on offer from Masterpart at £4.49 in 2’s. (List is £35.14).
Do you have an account with Electrolux or pay by credit card ??
Regards
Brian
Yes we have an account with Electrolux and with you but we never get direct offers from you, but those common parts we do get on offer from the likes of Wash vac.

Dont worry Ken, they will just direct the disgruntled customer back to the retailer who will happily go and replace it at no cost to Brandt and then store the thing until they can be arsed to come and collect it and maybe at some point in the distant future will issue a credit note.

As for Partfinder, I find it excellent value given the amount of brands it covers but it is a part look up tool not service information. We all know that merloni engineers have an extra button to click with service info on it, if we could access that I would happily pay for it. 😳

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint WD63P Washer/Drier
Hey DP, elaborate a bit. What doesnt it do exactly. Just not get hot enough or not at all or not even fill in the first place?
Do these still have a 90 degree safety stat on them? (thinking about it I dont think they do) if so it could be that.eastlmark
ModeratorRe: Hotpoint DWF30
Have had the same thing, but not for a number of years, I think the quality of the steel varies as last time we had several with similar datecodes. Maybe we are in for some more.
We had 2 that were was used in a schools chemistry lab and we put it down to that although they swore they only washed pre rinsed test tubes in it but it didnt smell quite right.
Being messy with the salt could also be the start of it if the stainless is crap. Remember the Hotpoint versions that were made in the UK although looking like bosch were not of the same material quality as you can usually tell when taking the door panel off.eastlmark
ModeratorRe: Hotpoint Advertise Franchises!
Anyone else recieving a monthly phone call from Merloni spares accounts office enquiring how much we will be paying them this month? Our reply is “the amount that says current on the statement you send us as we always do.” I called them last month to ask why they were doing this and was told that they wanted to know how much money they would have this month……Bizzarre.

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint/Merloni
The really funny thing about this is that they have just started a huge tv advertising campaign for their built in stuff. The Key line being: “Your not going to use that are you?”

ModeratorRe: Most ridiculous part price
Just thought I would re open this thread as it has been a bit dormant lately:
Bosch washer WFB2005gb15 timer knob not engaging (ie you cannot select a programme as it just goes around loosly) the problem is just the inner timer knob which has 2 plastic hooks that had broken off, the inner knob drops off as soon as you remove the facia but is it available as a part? No chance you have to have the whole console panel, £73 retail! The customer is resorting to long nose pliers and will buy another brand next time, and I dont blame him.eastlmark
ModeratorRe: hotpoint wma32 washer, drum lifters breaking
Just like to add here that there is now a version 3 lifter just to complicate things further.
