ModeratorRe: Servis M3022/M module blown!
we had a blown plug on one of these, they sent us a whole loom to replace it! yeah, like we were gonna change that for £27 or whatever it was back then. Martin, switch the thing back on using a broom handle, at least you will be safe then!

These are being sold over there for around £650. OK it does mention 4 shock suspension so it may not be a direct Servis re badge but I am sure it aint been anywhere near Sweden.

ModeratorRe: Smeg Dishwasher fault
Get the smeg repaired, its WAY better than the Bosch neff model and the parts are cheaper too. and with intergrated stuff its never a straight swop when replacing appliances. I would question your repair mans charging of a carriage charge though….
Perhaps if you let us know your postal area someone here could help you out cheaper.eastlmark

ModeratorRe: The Customer is allways right!
we had one today, booking for tomorrow afternoon, offerred her a “after 2pm” appointment. “oh fine”, she said “but I have a baby who I have to take for a walk at 4 so you will have to be done by then” Am I stupid in not understanding that or what, I am sure I never walked a baby at a precise time each day.

can you elaborate a bit more on that?
If it is overfilling it is not going to be the valve unless it continues filling even when the machine is not in use.eastlmark
ModeratorRe: Hotpoint T-dryer,TDL30 Belt Replacement
The tumble drier tool is useful and probably worth the money, not so the washing machine one, a couple of tie wraps on the drum pulley works just as well.

One thing Don and I have discovered though from a press release in the ERT, some of the upper models are using an induction motor to keep the noise level down. And it’s true, I looked underneath at an Ultima, the Aquarius plus range are using them as well apparently.
A Hotpoint front loader with an induction motor 😯 whatever next.
Dave.
Induction motor? Upper models? you mean high spinning models? You are joking me….are’nt you? Can those plastic tubs take the weight of an induction motor? what about the spin speed? gearboxes? candy style expanding drum pulley’s? No doubt they are already working on the brush motor mod kit!

Penguin45 wrote:Anyone know what the position is regarding blood? I bust the knuckle of my right index finger open on a Zanussi dishwasher door panel (like you always do – thanks Zanussi) yesterday and the lady of the house got really upset! Obviously I cleaned it up, with the roll of kitchen towelling from the van (useful) and stuck a plaster on the cut (from the first aid kit in the van – very useful) and finished up cleaning the floor with a bottle of white spirit (which also lives in the van)(It’s a helluva van). Then she wanted to argue about the bill, but that’s another story….. Anyway, I got paid.
Have we got any guidance on this? IMO the customers reaction was unreasonable and somewhat disturbing. In effect, making an unreasonable judgement on my lifestyle (tame, boring but I wish……) with no knowledge at all.
Somewhat confused and disappointed in human nature,
Regards,
Penguin.Funny, I had blood yesterday too when I cracked my head on the underside of a marble worktop, even with a good 3″ of hair to cusion it it still hurt and didnt know I was cut until I felt a damp trickle (ie blood) running down the back of my neck later on. Got me thinking though, if this were somehow the other way around, we would be persued for compensation and maybe, in these days of blame and claim maybe we should sometimes get our revenge.
To add insult to injury (literally) when I got to the office this morning that very customer had left a message yesterday on the ansaphone suggesting that we were a “terrible company” as we had “not turned up and its 5.30 now so you are obviously not coming now” and “I am going to report you to trading standards” Which probably explains why she was behaving very oddly and sheepishly when I turned up at 5.45 yesterday having no idea that she had left that message and, by the way, it was booked as an after 4.30 appointment in the first place!eastlmark
ModeratorRe: Dishwasher installation fault?
If the plug has melted it is defo a faulty socket, no way would the working water temperature in the dishwasher be anywhere near hot enough to melt a plug. Are you sure the plug has melted, not just the sticky insulation coated on the back of the dishwasher stuck on the plug top? This can appear like burning. I have had whole plugs embedded in that stuff which can disconnect the if the dishwasher is moved slightly or unpluging itself totally when the dishwasher is pulled out.
