    Re: Rangemaster fridge freezer

is it powered up to divert to the fridge or powered up to close off the fridge circuit?

this is the older version you configure yourself after fiting, config code is shown as item 990 and is also usually on a label on the old module case.

    nearly Martin, actualy a Smeg.
I guess fairdeal is talking of some sort of thermal fuse maybe? and yes, the NTC for that one is under the tub so, fairdeal, just sort out the live, neutral and earth and let the temperature sensing look after itself.

v true Ian. Maybe I was a bit OT by talking about chargeable work rather than any agency stuff.
More making the same point I have banged on about here for years about adapting our business to suit the customers rather than adapting customers to suit us.

    Re: Seven Days A Week

cannot believe any business in this trade does NOT work on Saturdays…. just a normal day for me for over 15 years and a good one for business, no school runs, less traffic on the roads, can charge more and a whole more relaxed feeling. Have a day off in the week instead.
Allways has astounded me that this trade is so reluctant to move a bit to fit in with our customers.

mmm,. probably would not advise doing that somehow. have you the model number of the appliance?

If you are saying the old heater did not have a NTC but the new one has, then just leave it disconnected as its just there to plug the hole. Your appliance must have a seperate NTC elsewhere.

ooh yeah, memories. was a 3/4 a day a few years back. Defo need that side panel off an also release the door spring as it runs across the chamber. Need careful psoitioning to stop it catching on the the new chamber once fitted. Cannot have done one for 5 years now. Might even have one in stock I would dearly love to get rid of if so. Will let you know later.
Must admit usual fault was water in the base as it had a overflow drain on the pressure chamber that released water into the base if blocked.

    Re: Torx etc.

not unusual on cars, need to buy a female torx socket set for it. Some normal sockets may fit as they tend to use the same pattern but if its a real tight one, and I would assume this one is, then you need the correct tool. Halfords do them by the way but sizing is difficult so you may be better off buying a set.
