ParticipantRe: quiet week
Been a bit quiet of late so there I was browsing the internet when before I knew it I had booked two cheap flights.
There isn’t so much as a blade of grass out of place in the garden so I’m off.
Might as well be sitting on a beach for a week with my diary and mobile and hopefully come back to some work.

Quoted customer for gearbox, clutch & drive coupling this week.
I always quote for the full repair as I like the payment to clear before it breaks down again.Decided to buy himself a new one from Makro £349.99 + VAT with the view that if it only lasts two or three years its paid for itself.
These things used to cost £600+ and were a good earner on repairs.Oh well at least he paid up for the call out.
Happy days 😥

My machine took 11 updates so I must have had a lot of broken windows 😉

Ive sourced what i hope to be a suitlable replacement off europart..
I put in the original part number and they came up with 34-wp-10 as a suitable replacementBeware of ”suitable replacements” I have used pattern elements in the past and if the rubber seal is not exactly the same as the original the element can pop out at some time in the future and leave you with a lot of explaining to do. 🙁
Someone posted today who had 50 whirlpool machines with sealed tub/bearing failures.
They may have 50 slightly used elements available. 😉

The ntc is similar to those which come complete with some washing machine elements.
Test reading should be 1.0K at 100.C & 34.6K at 0.C (melting ice).
Your local independant repairer will probably have one or two lying around and could probably do an economic repair if this is actually the fault.Steve

ParticipantRe: Attention Mods
On a rugby fans website that I use they brought in a rule that only subscribers with a paid for email address could join and post on the site.
ie no hotmail etc.
Result…..No spam.
Also to register you have to answer a question on the sport which is easy for us but to a spammer on the other side of the globe would be too difficult.Just a thought. 💡
