The screw under the cap is 5/16″ best to use the right socket in case it is stiff.

    Re: no work

My landline is on permanent divert and I don’t let it go to answering service as they just go to the next advert in the YP if no reply.
Downside is I get to speak to all the clowns trying to sell me stuff I didn’t know I needed.
They get a very short response from me as I am picking up the tab for the call 😈

These waste water pumps from Machinemart are ok but use too much power.
Better to splash out some serious dosh on a purpose built pond pump which will pay back the investment by lowering your leccy bill. 8)

Re: Whirlpool Ameriacn Fridge Freezer problems again

    Hi Paul.
If ice is forming on the freezer back wall then the auto defrost is not working and the evaporator behind will be iced up and no air can pass through it hence nothing is getting cold.
If you do a thorough defrost by switching off the appliance and leaving the freezer door open for at least 12 hours then switch back on it will run ok for a few days until it ices up again.
If this works then the problem will be either the defrost element packed up or the little black box on top of the evaporator which is the defrost thermostat.
Check D/F element for a resistance first and if ok then change the stat.

    Stat=481232058132
    Element=481902188177.

Tip. When changing the D/F element wear gloves as the evaporator is deadly sharp 👿

Re: New way to replace Bosch brushes.

From my own experience motor brush fits are few and far between.
For example I recently used the last set of hotpoint carbons from a bag of 25 that I bought from Wash Vac Services!

    Does anyone remember them?

I have taught myself to repair simple faults on pcb’s which can double the profit on these jobs.
eg. fridge freezer pcb repair cost 18p,fixed same day customer more than happy to pay £75 repair bill.

And before anyone asks NO I’m not going to post on utube! 😉

    I got one too.

Phoned them up and told them I don’t do system repairs and they took me off the data base. 😀

BTW they are a bit pricey too.

    Re: 20 RI-D3SF w/pool

Had one do the same a few weeks ago and had to fit a new filter holder.
The original was held together with two metal spring clips but it would seem that one was missing when the appliance was assembled and the factory had bodged it with some sticky tape!
The replacement was different assembly with twist and lock fitting and a better fit.
Repair bill was into three figs so customer not best pleased and I left him taking photographs for his complaint letter to Whirlpool.

    Jim is right.

A chartered accountant will save you a multiple of his fee.

You don’t have to work so hard if the tax man doesn’t get such a big cut cut 😉

Don’t slag this poster off ‘cos he’s right.

If retailers knowingly sell sell sh1te and don’t tell me they don’t know that it’s sh1te with the feedback from this site and other sources then they deserve to be brought to book.

“Caveat venditor” should be the new watch word for the retail world.

They don’t like it up em!

Once you have got the microwave out of the chimney housing the strip down is straight forward.
Getting the microwave out however can be a bit of a challenge.
An extra pair of hands would be an advantage.
Only ever done one of these and nearly bust a gut 👿
