Re: Prestige F/F stopped working but has started again

hello bob, the mod referred to involves repositioning the evaporator sensor, but wouldn’t have any bearing at all on the problems you’re experiencing.
as for the insulation fault, it’s unrepairable i’m afraid. it just means that water in the drain hose is freezing up because of an insulation breakdown between the hose and some pipework.
if it had been there from the start, surely you would have noticed the water in your fridge before now?

Re: Prestige F/F stopped working but has started again

hello bob, it sounds like you’ve got an insulation fault, causing the fridge drain hose to block up.
    this happens about 10-12″ down.

you’d be better off with your new fridge then 😥

you’ll see the drain hole block up again when the fridge has been on again for a couple of days.

    cheers.

not really instructions steve, but in the past if i’ve had one that’s been troublesome, i’ve put a little blob of silicon sealant on the loose end of the spring.
    this normally helps cure it.

    cheers.

hello jim, yes i was there.
it was a great game, i hope it came across well on tv for the neutral.
the keeper played well and to be fair, kept us in it at times, but there were many other great performances out there tonight.
the two centre midfielders, mc cann and mcdonald, the holding midfielder, alexander, the whole back line. in fact it was almost unfair to pick a man of the match.

gegsy, thanks for your comments mate, appreciated.

Re: Admiral side by side GC2224GEKB

you’re absolutely right theendisnye, 7 is the coldest setting.
the fridge gets it’s cold air from the freezer, through 4 vents.
the bottom 3 you have manual control over, but the top one in the top left hand corner of the fridge is controlled electronically.
this consists of a motorised damper which is spring loaded.
the spring can come away from the assembly, which will have to be fully dis-assembled in order to fit it back correctly.
if you have refitted this spring correctly, then the problem could lie with the motorised damper itself.
you’ll either need a new one (part no 67006251) or a heater mod kit.
it sounds really, like it’s engineer time.
try the repairs @ feature on this site.

    cheers.

    Re: Fridge in garage?

paul, after all the rhetoric, a frigidaire RL6003B, ALTHOUGH NOT DESIGNED TO, works perfectly well in my garage 😉

    Re: Fridge in garage?

paul, a simple fridge which should work ok, would be a frigidaire RL6003B.
    cheap and cheerful.
although, the caveat is as ever, that it would be technically operating outside of it’s normal conditions.
    cheers.

    Re: Fridge in garage?

paul, a fridge alone wouldn’t need a low ambient device to help it work.
if it was cold enough the fridge compressor wouldn’t run, simple.
there will be any number available on the market. if it’s going in the garage, i wouldn’t go for a quality fridge, such as a liebherr.
these tend to be very well insulated, which normally is what you want. however, in this case, it’s not a requirement and in fact could work against you.

    Re: Fridge in garage?

    no probs paul!

yes, a seperate fridge would work better than a f/f.
although as mentioned, it would still be operating outside of it’s climate class. there are plenty of them on the market to choose from.

fridge freezers with twin compressors and thermostats are not as common nowadays and would be more expensive.

this is a problem that rears it’s head in the winter every year and i’m sure there will be more enquiries than yours on the site. i’ve been called out to a couple already this year!

    Re: Fridge in garage?

hello paul, every fridge that is made is designed to operate within a set parameter of temperatures.
this is called a climate class.
our climate class is between 16 and 32 degrees c.
that is to say, that a fridge will work perfectly well within this class, but will struggle outside of it.
your fridge is obviously, at the minute, operating well outside of it’s climate class.
a seperate fridge and freezer would do the trick, but should you have any problems, the manufacturer could always point to the fact that the fridges are operating outside their normal required conditions.
either seperate unts or a fridge freezer with two thermostats and two compressors, ie operating independently of each other, would work better.

    cheers.

Re: Maytag GC2228EHB double door fridge feezer ice maker

hi mate, you’re rotating the timer manually? how are you doing that?
it won’t dispense? you mean harvest?
course it’s an expensive part, but it’s a top of the range machine.
the icemaker only comes complete now, you can’t get just the module any more.
    you got any more info?

    cheers.
