Re: American fridge freezer advice – LG, GE, Bosch etc
the american fridge is generally a better product than an american ‘style’ one.
this is largely due to build quality and because the american products go all around the world, you’ll find that the climate class of the fridge is higher than the american style ones.
look inside the fridge compartment at the label, this will tell you where the fridge is made and also the climate class of the appliance.
even some of the american brands are now using appliances from elsewhere.

this is the trilogy model, side by side refrigerator with bottom mount freezer with sliding drawer. it doesn’t have fan delay.
if you look behind the plinth, underneath the machine, you’ll find a wiring diagram stuck to the bottom of the cabinet.
the fan connections on the board are clearly marked on it.piggy backing a supply may be a cheaper alternative, although never encouraged by the manufacturer and given the price of the appliance, probably not the customer, either.
also, you may still have the possibility of the fan being short, as mentioned before.

hi nige, the problem will be the board.
also worth checking the resistance of the fan motor before fitting new board, because the fans can be almost short circuit.cheers.
Re: Miele freezer not getting cold enough
hardly likely to be a fan fault, as the display is showing -33!
you could have two faults with this appliance.
firstly, it’s not cooling sufficiently in the freezer and then the display is showing -33.
alternatively, it could be the sensor sending duff info to the pcb, in which case, if the board thinks it’s -33, then it won’t be operating properly.
it could also be the board mis-reading the info from the sensor, but
in terms of probability, it’s likely to be the sensor.
there is a diagnostic sequence that can be accessed via the electronics. this allows you to check all the components in the appliance, particularly the sensor readings, which can be cross referrred against resistance readings from the sensors.
time for an engineer’s visit really.
at 7 years old, the miele fridge should still have plenty of life in it.Re: LIEBHERR K3660 running too cold
hello chris, the fault is most likely to be down to the sensor.
you’ll need a new one, which will probably mean an engineer’s visit.

still, stupid mistakes in the first leg meant that we had a mountain to climb and unforunately, it proved too big a task.
i would say good luck to spurs in the final, but united are my second team!after the game at the weekend in the fa cup, away at west brom, we’ll concentrate on the league 😉

hi rob, if you need to replace the hinge it’s a simple enough job.
just underneath the machine on the left hand side at the front, there’s a push fit connector. disconnect the water pipe from the connector and as you remove the door, the pipe will come away with the door, through the middle of the hinge.
adjustment of the door however, is normally done via the two screws on the bottom left and right hand sides of the machine.
the inside screw adjusts the wheel at the back and the outside screw adjusts the wheel at the front. this is the same for either side.

2nd half, they get 2 quick goals and suddenly we’re hanging on against a really useful looking side 😳 😳 😳
we re-grouped and bossed the last 20 mins, missing a few good opportunities to increase the lead. the game ended 3-2. what a game this football 😮 😮 😮

it wouldn’t be so bad helo, if you weren’t on the back foot and didn’t jump in like an over excited teenager.
that was a ridiculous statement by the comet ‘engineer’, who in my opinion, should get with program or find another profession.
that said, who’s fault is it that he’s let loose on the unsuspecting public?
his, the person who set him on, or the people that should monitor skill levels and abilities at comet?to say that not all engineers know about the ambient’s effect on a fridge’s efficiency is like saying that not all bus drivers know the highway code.
i can understand your embarrassment, but jumping blindly in to defend the indefensible isn’t the answer or the way forward.
