Re: Hotpoint EXFM 171G not working

as with all frost free fridge freezers “there not” and require defrosting occasionally

switch off open doors and leave for about 2 days. if there is hidden ice round the back it will stop fans and block the ducts that allow the cold air to get to the fridge

Re: WIS24140gb/14 800 spin and end

most bosch or siemans with a spin speed button use the same reset

    ie
turn prog knob to 6 o clock
press and hold spin speed button
turn prog knob 1 click clockwise
    then release spin button

turn off wait 5 secs then turn on

does not always work first time

in an AC circuit capacitors act as a resistor

    see http://www.sengpielaudio.com/calculator-RC.htm

half the value so double the resistance

Re: Electric Rangemaster 110, one oven and one hob plate on.

the oven and ring should be seperate wiring systems so should not affect each other. that means you have 2 faults
the only fault i can see happening in transit is an earth fault but if you have an RCD in your house it would trip

make sure the mains cable is connected correctly. make sure any link in the box are present and tight
on some cookers there is a diagram about how to connect but if that fails try to find and download the owners manual

if this is new dont mess around let them sort it under guarentee

not seen one of these but Haier is known in the trade to be rubbish. it looks to me as if the peice is misplaced but you wont know till you see another one. If you bend it and it breaks then you will void any warranty

when it comes to the moisture sensor miele’s use the brush gear to pick up the clothes.
i get a piece of kitcen roll or a small cloth. wet it, but not dripping, and carefully place it on the brush gear touching both brushes. that way machine thinks its full of wet clothes

    Re: Bosch Classix not spinning

if its not spinning properly then the main faults will be

1 drain problems run the machine with no clothes in it through a rinse. after it fill cancel the progamme and select drain. you should visibly see the water going down

2 loading out of balance loads will not spin

3 brushes motor brushes wear with age and normally last about 5 to 7 years dependant on use. as they fail there will be a sparking noise comiong from the motor

    hope it helps

any engineer worth having is going to charge to come out.
    but
as you say its most likley the thermocouple. if you do a search on this site for an engineer who repairs gas appliances he would most likely give you a cost for replacing the thermocouple, but, there is a slight chance its not so a charge would apply if the repair was not as expected

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/search/fi … ineer.html

things you can look for. the thermocouple sensor is in the flame. check the burner for blocked jets as if the sensor does not get hot enough it will not stay on

    the oven is temperature controlled

light and set to a low setting close door watch and wait

it should turn down as it gets hot
