Re: Smeg A1.1 oven switch – earth connection?

its an earth wire so wont stop oven working. you will just have to look around for a tag that not got a wire on it, that connected to chassis metalwork of some kind. its not the end of the world if you leave it off provided the cooked is earthed by other cables.
you are not going to get a wiring diag to include earth wires as they are normally excluded to make drawings clearer

not mush to go wrong with these so its got to be 1 of the elements failed or the switch that controls it

disconnect ring and check both elements

also had one the other week where all the numbers were cleaned off and the customer was switching it to 1 instead of 6

    Re: Miele W3204: Gaining Access

by the looks of this your way in is the 2 screws at the side of the lid. loosen them about 1/2 inch then push them in to release front of lid then lift

    But

to get at the button you want means you have to go in through the control panel from the front as there is no access from the lid

also any warranty you have from miele will cease as soon as you do this

these are whirlpool units and apart from the motor problem are very reliable. motor is not too badly priced and not too bad to fit apart from the type of hose clips they use

    check spin clutch above gearbox
    pt no 481969018152

if it got oil on it needs a gearbox too. if its just slipping then friction material prob down to rivets. check drum spins ok ie is it easy to turn whan trying to spin

there are plenty of posts about this machine do a search

burton1972 wrote:Hi. Done a continuity test on a bosch motor to see if its faulty. Have readings on connections 1&2 and 5&6 but no reading on 3&4 and have tested the brushes as well, which are ok.
Can someone let me know the diagnosis please and what i can do?

    you have 6 connections

    2 for armature
    2 for field coil
    2 for tachometer

the armature and field give a very low reading but the tacho is higher so may give the indication it is not there. use a higher resistance range and see if it is there.

may be the ntc but they are not cheap on these machines so doing a swap to see if you are right is not a good idea.
one thing you could look at is the motor. this unit is built by whirlpool and by and large are very reliable. But, the motor they use wears with age and can, run, but not at full speed. to test put dishwasher on a rinse, wait till it fills and the motor starts then open the door. what you are looking for is lots of water being thrown around and you will get splashed as you do it ( hence you dont do it if its full of very hot water) if it seems weak then suspect a motor problem

    Re: Candy GO482 Drain Fault

the type of pumps used on most modern machines is a permanent magnet unit with all the revolving parts in the water. as they wear the impeller can catch the sides of the tube it is in and fail to start. check impeller for side to side play. it may feel ok to turn but if it catches inside it will fail

look at the start button and count the flashes. its a fault code to tell you whats wrong.. you should see something lik flash, flash, flash short pause and then repeat. the only fault that seems to keep flashing is 1 otherwise it can be up to 15 flashes
