    Re: Hotpoint HVF344UK

as you say cant see them listed on connect or qualtex

would have to see a better picture of the holder to see what might fit

can you not find another set and transplant the carbon core

    Re: Bosch filling/emptying constantly

it does not look too gunged up neither does the pipe

fill machine with side off and see what happen

if the red float keeps coming up and stopping water and starts pump then strip and clean

matrix just clips off but beware its got some water in it and can go over electrics unless you take care

to get float section out. look at the leg next to the red rod. there is a plastic barb which needs to be removed to withdraw it after first removing pipe bottom left H side of picture

    Re: Bosch filling/emptying constantly

your extended programme sound like it might not be heating

common problem with this machine is gunge in the float section and in the hose leading into the sump

look at the laft hand side of the dishwasher you will see a plastic unit with a red float inside and a hose coming out the front that connect with the sump. if this is gunged up it does not work properly and may cause all the symptoms you mention

    Re: Diplomat ADP8352

all capacitors have a value common one in a dishwashers is 5uF look for this value on the old part and look in the store on this site.
It is a common part used on a lot of appliances so does not have to be the original unless you want to pay a lot more for it

Re: Diplomat 8242 not heating water – where’s the element?

The brown (I assume is +v DC) appears to connect straight to the control PCB and the blue (I assume 0v or -ve DC) connects to the airflow (?) sensor switch – the round thing with an airflow tube between it and the sump. This airflow switch must then have to be in a non-fault-state in order to pass the current through it and complete the DC current loop (to 0v DC at this point or ‘through’ the next sensor, etc., and eventually to 0v)

forget DC its all AC and at 230v
heater will be 230v approx 1.5 kw
airflow switch is a pressure switch that uses air built up in a pressure chamber by the weight of water or in some cases ( not sure about this model ) by the pressure of water from the wash pump ie no water no heater

there will be a relay on the pcb that has to operate to power the heater and there may be overheat stats to protect against fire should the heater come on without water. also look for breaks in the wiring loom at the bottom of the door where the wire bend as the door opens. common fault on some dishwashers

    hope this helps
cant be more specific as i dont know model and have no tech info

Re: miele g975 sc plus reed valve

    depends where the magnet stops

reed switches are activated by magnets so if the magnet stops next to it then switch will be closed

Re: miele g975 sc plus reed valve

you cant bypass it because it needs to pulse to send a signal to the pcb
you can test reed switches with a multimeter and a magnet

only way you could bypass it is to solder 2 wires to a push switch and when machine start you push the switch on and off fast as you can, but reed has got to have failed o/c for this to work without removing it

    Re: Warning, Qualtex BKT88 failure

stopped using them a while ago had a word with qualtex but nobody else had probs so that was it

my failure was a bkt87 kit

rear bearing wore through in under 14 days and front bearings were noisy fitted gen no probs after that

it was a high use site but it proves that sometimes the extra for the gen part is worth it

we need feedback on this site for bad non gen parts. it will do 2 things

1 it will alert us to bad parts and avoid call backs
2 it will alert suppliers to problems and hopefully improve quality of non gen parts overall

shocks but it could be a weight come loose or anything else

    take plug OUT !

    take lid off machine

put your hand in the middle of the tub and push down. if you can bounce it up and down easily like a ball then shocks are worn.

    hope it helps

    Re: Miele Novotronic W844

if the bearings have gone it will make quite a noise even with nothing in it and there may be rusty water leaking from the bearing housinjg at the rear
if the bearings have gone its a big job to take the whole tub out of the machine

also check shock absorbers they get looser with age and machine will bounce more making more noise on heavier loads
this is a much simpler job if thats what is wrong
