you say warm but is it warm enough to maake steam

if its steamy check water flow into machine they use a small amount of cold water to condense steam back to water

if its not steaming look for heater problems

Re: Hotpoint 1509 2-pole will work in 9605???

have replaced bearings but never noticed any problem with shortened life. as you say the clutch one usually went dry with age as the grease dried with the heat

sound good spinning up should show any bend in the shaft

with the rust you are talking sounds like its been leaking for a while so check the water has done no other damage

check the brake solenoid these are covered but can fail if they get too wet

also look inside the base where the shaft goes through to the tub

    look at http://www.4ourhouse.co.uk/cgi-bin/sear … art=151213

you can see the rubber bellows over time this gets pushed off by corrosion and if it leaks in this area you are in for a big strip down

also check the pulley on the gearbox for play on the early models they had a bearing holding the pulley but to save money they removed it result lower gearbox bearing wears and starts to leak oil
what i am trying to say is you have to know when to stop. the 9605 was introduced in may 1989 so all the components are that age. have not seen one for a while but in the age of fitted kitchens a top loader is out of place, hence their demise

been at this over 30 years seen most things

if shaft ok bearings can be replaced they use standard bearings cant remember numbers but if taken out they can be matched by a bearing supplier

you can still get pumps no prob but i heard hotpoint where buying pumps from the pattern boys so no point in using a gen part

checked on motor now obsolete think i may have a stator but would have to dig around which is why i asked you where you live

the little rattle may be ok the magnets on the rear of the motor come loose and make a rattling sound
dont have diagram so cant comment on colours but you have 3 circuits in the motor

    armature 2 wires
field coil 2 or 3 wires
    tacho 2 wires

measuring a similar motor i get
    armature 3 ohm
field coil with 3 wire coil you can get 0.6 ohm or 1.2 ohm the third wire connect to the coil middle so you get half
    tacho 136 ohm

so you can see the field coil looks like a short circuit but its not
it is difficult to decide if motor has blown. one of the faults you get is when the tacho magnet (which may be you rattle ) stops turning and the programmes tries to turn a full load of washing with the water in at spin speed this overloads the motor and blows the track on the board.
you have to look what you had in machine if it was a very heavy load it may well be if you repaired programmer it may work ok
    but i cant promise

had a similar thing with water coming in quick bursts was the capacitor in the timer providing power to the pcb

Re: Hotpoint TCM570G – Tumble Dryer belt tension pulley

    should be part no C00113879

this is a condensor dryer so you have to remove the fan cover in front of the motor and remove the fan to get at the bolt holding pulley can be a bit tricky to fit since belt is elastic but if you fit back bolt first do not tighten just put in a few threads you can use the pulley as a lever to tention belt pulley then hooks into motor and you can tighten up

hope it helps plug out first

these machine normally display some sort of fault code its a zanussibased machine so they self diagnose most faults
normally E followed by a number

there is an electricaly operated solenoid valve on the boiler sound like yous is stuck open probably due to limescale

you could try removing it and pour a but of vinegar or and mild acid lemon juice etc and see if it desolves it. you cant lose anything its a scrap part now. remove electric coils first

Re: cda ci993 wasing maching tripping rdb

the most common components to trip RCD’s are motors and heaters

i dont know with this machine but on the older machines you could disconnect motor and heater ( taking care to secure wires) then switch on if it did not trip replace motor and try again bit long winded but i am sure you can see where i am going
on later machines if you disconnect components it wont start or it will go into fault mode not sure what yours will do
what you really need is a good engineer with the equipment to find which part is faulty

    ring asd 0113 393 6680

there is normally an exhust start and a seperate overheat stat that blows and stops machine till it is replaced
