    Re: Whirlpool just pumps?

these would be my next moves

check for earth faults on pump if neutral switched

check voltage at pump if 110v triac failure had a servis do this recently

    check triac in programmer

    hope this helps

silly idea ? you did disconnect element to read resistance

i prefer to test live no room for error

if element ok you need to know if live or neutral missing could be a chaffed wire that has blown to earth and now is o/c

    hope this helps

    Re: Whirlpool AWO/D 4605

if it was me my next move would be to check for L+N on the door lock or power door lock up seperatly to check operation you can find right terms with multimeter if it is a heater type

also find the live and switch wire to the machine and short out to see if it bursts into life

    hope this helps

    Re: Miele Tumble dryer

you have not said how this contactor has failed

if the heater had shorted i would expect it to blow the fuse and maybe weld the contactor contacts together

if as you describe this is a burn out unless moisture is getting inside vthe contactor than this can only bad electrical connections. cut the wires back far enough to find clean wire and replace with new good quality connectors that are tight any loose conns will get hot and burn out

    hope this helps

i assume you put the right type of fuse in

    must be T 6.3a not F 6.3a

have seen other posts about these dryers the top loader autos use the same fuse but in the dryers case i think if you overload it the motor will blow the fuse as it changes direction on start up

    long shot

check the agitator these machines the top half of the agitator moves in one directon but is locked in the other by small pawls that wear and allow agitator not to wash properly

test hold top of agitator turn by hand clockwise and anticlockwise should lock in 1 direction cant remember which

Re: Whirlpool sensor rear vent dryers awz 3518 no heat

have no knowledge of this machine but an ntc is only a temperature contolled resistor if you substitute various fixed resistors you should get the heators to turn on and off try

    http://www2.westfalia.net/shops/electro … e5fc0c7083

this is a decade resistance box so you can switch in various values quickly

it would be nice if you knew the resistance of the ntc at a given temp to help diagnosis but you can measure the in situe while you are switching in and out resistors to turn on and off heater

    hope this helps
