    hi johno

these ovens use a delay relay to turn on the cooling fan and they fail quite a lot

it is situated in the top of the oven and consists of 4 wires going to a blue device about 1 inch long ( follow wires from cooling fan) you will find a brown burn mark on it

    part no 899661926761/1 thermostat,delayer.fan 240v

    Re: Guaranteed Repairs

i give six months guarentee but am flexible theres nothing worse than an item failing a week out of guarentee. if i fell it should have lasted longer will still replace free of charge.
the moral is treat your customers the way you would like to be treated and you cant go wrong

no flashing lights or codes have you got a value for ntc could sub a variable resistor if i have more info

when i was there the other day i seemed to be there forever but the problem always is how long do you sit in front of a dishwasher waiting for something to happen. do these machines have short test cycles i could try or a diagnostic mode ?

    Re: Digital Clocks

most digital clocks these days do not rely on the mains frequency but a quartz crystal so it is not mains frequency that is at fault

but i can believe 1 faulty clock but not 2 there has got to be an electrical cause did you take a voltage reading while you where there ?

cannot think of a cause for this but if the panasonic is under warrenty throw the ball in their court and see what happens

i had a case not so long ago where we needed a timer for a hoover auto that was under ten years old
    the timer price waqs £180

at this price no one would buy it but it was available keeping within the directive

al the have to do is keep one of all the spares and make the price so high no one would buy them

    Re: De Walt battery

one of the problems with NiCad batts is they have a memory effect
to get the best from them you must not charge them till they are flat. multiple charging from half full causes them to only give half the output and reduces useful life NiMH does not have this problem and should give a longer useful life

    i agree with iadom

taking the panel off makes it easier and less chance of water getting into it or getting knocked

    Re: Am I Liable

i am assuming that after this length of time the machine has been repaired if they are still waiting after this length of time then they may have a case for something but if they have accepted the repair and no other problems have occurred i see you are in no position to accept machine back and you are probably out of pocket for the repair on the WMA. would have been better if you could have lent them one and got it back after

if they had rejected the repair they would have had more clout to claim not of merchantable quality

somtimes favours like this backfire and i try to let customers vent their anger on thr manufacturers but you will make the odd enemy along the way cant be helped

Re: customers not collecting vacuum cleaners

have used different tacks over the years

vac charge £5 up front as an inspection charge ( note this is not a deposit which may be refundable )

microwaves £10 up front with a £5 refund on collection of an unrepaired item

i have the advantage of a local scrap yard which means cheap disposal of all metal parts saves a packet and i can take away old machines even if i do not want them

check you have got the single wires the right way round does weird things if you swop them covered wire to right from front of machine
