ModeratorRe: Throw away job or what?
here we are in 2007 with tony blair trying to reduce our carbon foot print and the manufacturers have thrown quality out of the window because of a cost driven public who see money before reliability.
i see more 18 nmonth old mascines and scrap them than i ever did all this machinery has to be replaced and more carbon dioxide is produced in the manufacturewe need to promote ourselves as the green alternative.
Apart from when i eat sprouts i do not produce that much greenhouse gasDave

agree with above never had to replace mounts the reason for the out of balanc action is down to two possible causes
1 the drum is not accellerating fast enough to pass this vibration point can be stiff bearings or clutch shoes
2 bent shaft causing drum to hit sides
have had both faults over the years

well it looks like i started someting of a slagging match but if they will build machines like this what do they expect
cut my teeth on early 1600 auto and 18 series built like tanks solid but they still had their faults. who remembers the power board and PMC on the 1600 series and if you switched the machine off in spin it could blow the electronics.
All new machines have to contend with the same problem they are in a blinkered market where price wins over build quaility
would like the number of the mod kit if you can find it now my customer has bought this rubbish i feel duty bound to try to help
many thanks

ModeratorRe: Watercooled dryer!!??
had a few like this dryed out with hair dryer and ok
the only slight common theme is some of the clients operate dryer on half heat and with the lack of temp around fan causing condensation
thats my theory but am open to other ideas

have already mentioned 5 year part warranty to customer she was worried that she had not registered the machine when new but lokking through the leaflets you could do it by post so i told her to say she sent it
most of the time i tell about 5 year warranty if they are going to sell s**t they deserve the comebacks

ModeratorRe: Anyone heard of ESS Multi Assistance?
they pay up eventually
originally they quoted 2 months to get paid
took them 5 just got paid for job that was initially started last march
but took them 5 months to pay up from invoice date
got my hands burnt the first time i dealt with them this time built in a heathy profit to ease the problem
my advice is if you deal with them give them silly prices and if they accept then you have enough money to take on the hassle
