have you looked in the menus of the control panel
dont know the unit and dont do many fridges but was thinking it was an option in the menus to have it on or fade out after time
would still find the manual and look

no if element blows fan will still run
if unit has a clock check its not been knocked out of the manual position

never ever had to enter commodity codes. had one shipment stuck in customs just after Brexit. have had no issues since. just order and it arrives

Davecapacitors are fairly universal but you need to know the value and it has to be the same mounting as the original

have a close look at the selector switch. look for burnt or damaged contacts
the stat you found is most likely for the fan. there is a cutout stat somewhere but you would need to look for it
assume you set the clock if it has one as oven wont go unless you do
