these machine are very prone to broken wires at the bottom of the door

but be careful as there are often multiple wires of the same colour

    yes there was a mod
you had to add the front skirt to hold the element up which the 2 rods rest on at the same time

also seemed to remember Maddocks had one at the time that was the old fitting, not sure if they still do them

as far as working is concerned treat them like a dehumidifier. you wont get much heat as its only waste heat from the compressor

first thing to check is air flow. check carefully all filters and check the evaporator fins for signs of blockages

does sound like a board power supply fault

if you switch the plug off and back on does it come back to life ?

suedehead1 wrote:Hi, I had the same problem 2 different boards 2 different types of door lock. I actually put a solenoid operated door lock on instead of the bimetal and it cured it.

cant see how that works as the board deals with each type of lock differently

if you put a solenoid lock on a board that is meant for a ptc type the solenoid coil would not cycle properly and the coil is also not meant to be energised for long periods so I would expect it to burn out

you would hope a new switch was not faulty

have you checked its not got a child lock and its on by accident ?

this is where if you had bought a Beko or Bosch it would still be guaranteed

does the door feel like its latching the last inch. can you feel the click as it closes

get a lot of units where the lock is in the closed position even though the door is open. result no start

lock is inside the door at the top

will if you cant unscrew it then things get a lot more difficult

quite often things left in the washing make their way down the hoses and block the filter. you find the filter will unscrew a bit but will only move a quater turn or so

if yours is like this you have to strip the machine to remove the hose from the pump, to remove the obstructions thats stopping the filter from movine to be able to clear it

hair clips are quite conmmon to do this along with broken bra wires and large chunks of fluff

first thing always is to check filter

if its clear select a rinse with no clothes in and let it fill up
then turn off and select drain or spin only and see how fast its getting rid of the water. you should see the water going down in the drum, slowly at first then getting quicker. it should drain in less than 2 minutes if no you have something else blocking it
