if it stops heating then you know its just a stat problem

ok try something

take one wire off the stat and see what happens as it should not heat. that will prove the circuit. you could do it with a multimeter to save turning it on

according to one of my sources it transposes to part no 49107216

connect have it for a mere £73 plus vat (ouch)

some stats close the contacts in the off postion to allow the grill to work again you cab check with a meter

went to one like that years ago
thye rats ate the sump hose causing a leak

found out how they got in 3 weeks later when i went to the flat next door and found an open 4 inch sewer pipe under the sink

not the one inside the oven it the one in the control panel that keeps things cool
