Best I can do is film director Ken Russell & Tony Blackburn’s mum – she always made a point of telling us who she was. One of my former workmates once went to Kevin Keegan, refused his offer of an autograph & then billed him because the fault wasnt covered under guarantee.

You might find that the main board is the problem – it has little sprung plastic bits which the selector buttons press against and these can snap. If it’s just a cosmetic issue then i would just put up with it.

Could be pressure switch contact jammed not seen it on these ones myself more likely the iwms (the big side tank) is getting sludged up or the plastic tube from the iwms to the sump (bottom front) usually get a stale musty smell inside if the bottom hose is blocking up.

Might be worth looking at the Tricity Bendix condenser dryers as theyre made by Zanussi – pretty reliable and solid, should also be cheaper than the Zanussi version. Personally wouldnt touch the white knight.

Meant to post this earlier, proper friday afternoon job:

Another engineer ordered a compressor for a bloody great siemens f/f as hes not equipped to change it muggins had to go on a 2 hour round trip.
Got to the job, sure enough the old compressor was seized so changed it, regassed & tested it. Must have spent 1 1/2 hours on me knees but it was working fine, did the paperwork then gave the customer a shout to tell her i was done. She came into the room and said “Oh, while youre here…. I meant to say to your last bloke…. theres a crack along the back of the liner just below the back of the shelf, its been icing up around there as well…. anything serious ?”

Customers – cant beat ’em….. shame sometimes.

Sounds like you may need a new ventilator (dryer fan)
Theres 2 types so you need to find the serial & product number (PNC)

Not on an FM56 – seal is tucked in between outer frame & oven cavity so doors have to come off to get to all the screws

    Re: ZANUSSI DRUM SEAL

When you tightened the bolts did they ALL go tight or are some just turning – if so you may need a new rear half, either way it’s a pig of a job because the whole tub assembly has to come out and it gets even more fiddley on a washer dryer. Might be better off getting an engineer for this one, see Repairs@.
