    Re: Hoover Drum Paddle Problem

Some of the new models are using 41001234. Don’t know if it is the correct one for yours as the parts list definitely gives the number you already have. 😕 It looks like the high spin speed machines have the 41001234 and the lower ones have 03870539. Worth a try. 🙂

Re: hotpoint tumble dryer design fault

    Drum shaft kit required.
    Includes:-
1 new extended rear bearing shaft.
    1 or 2 spacer washers.
    1 new rear bearing.
    4 new front bearing pads.
    1 new front felt strip.
1 new rear sponge/felt seal (extra thick).
    1 new shaft pin.

Fit the lot and it will push the complete drum forward about half an inch. Stops the drum falling off the front support and stops the drum from fouling the back panel. Can also be fitted on the condensor dryers to remove the front wheels which sound horrendous. 😕

1703080. not sure on price but around £15 to £20

If it does not have a display window you should find the board will come configured and will slot straight in. 😀

Week 33 of 2001 probably. These models were from around that time if my memory serve me right. 😯

13mm bolt screwed right into the shaft then a couple of hits with a big hammer. Usually better to get it started before you remove the leg bolts to stop the housing damaging the tub which is paper thin. 😕

    Re: Zanussi pressure pots

I have been using a large syringe for the last six years and never had a recall yet. Part fill the machine, switch off and remove the hose(s) from the pressure switch(s). Connect the syringe to the end of the hose and suck water up into the syringe, squirt it back down again. Repeat this several times. Drain the machine then reconnect the hose(s) to the pressure switch(s). Test the machine for the water levels. Five minutes from start to finish and you only have to remove the lid! 😀

200ml syringes are normally available from farm shops in the lambing season and I believe are available from AEG or Bosch but I don’t know the part numbers.

    Anything for an easy life.

Been using one for a couple of months now and wouldn’t go to a Herloni T/D without it. 😀

    Andy2,
only the higher priced Hotpoints seem to have the new motor on at the moment. I haven’t sen any Indesits with it yet but I am sure it will come if they prove to be reliable.

    Re: zan, BLOWING PUMPS

Standard Zanussi drain pump does not have a thermal cut-out. You must fit the one for the washer dryer. I have seen one of these melt the base assembly because it had the wrong pump fitted. 🙁

Re: DIAGNOSTIC / RESET MODE FOR ZANUSSI FJS 1225 W AND WJD 1

Switch machine off. Press and hold START and SKIP/RESET buttons while switching machine on. After about 4 seconds the machine will bleep, release the two buttons. All of the lights will flash around in sequence. Press the fabric button 9 times and you should have the last stored error code. To exit the fault system press the Temperature button a couple of times then switch machine off then on then off again. When you switch back on it will probably display EE0, switch off again then back on and you will be back to normal use. 🙂

I would seriously double check the price of £375 for any part accessed from inside the fridge on that model 😕
Even £37.50 might be a bit pricey for the fan motor.
Try the help desk and Dave should be able to give you a better idea of prices for the parts you need. 😀

Re: Hotpoint / Creda tumble dryers not heating

Andy is on about the new range of Hotpoint washer dryers which are a hybrid Hotpoint/Merloni machine. They should start to come out of the first year guarantee shortly. The cabinet, drum, door seal and pump are Hotpoint. The electronics and dryer box are Merloni 😕 The dryer box has a one shot thermostat instead of the thermal fuse which was always used by Merloni. This stat is actually fixed into the heater box from the inside so you have to strip the box and remove the element to change it. Presumably this is done so you will spot any blockages and clear them while you are on. The yellow spot stat was continually tripping and it didn’t take long before people found that if you scraped off the yellow paint you had a small hole and you could reset the stat with a paper clip. 😀 To cure the nuisance tripping the stat was upgraded to a red spot (without the convenience of a reset hole 😥 ) and they still suffer from nuisance tripping. They have now modified the heater box completely and done away with the filter which was mounted at the rear. Will wait and see what this works out like.

I think Andy is on about the washer dryer heater box stat which has just changed from a yellow spot to a red spot. 🙂
