Strange as it may seem but check for an open circuit wash motor πŸ˜• πŸ˜• πŸ˜•

    Re: Zanussi Configuration codes

Tubs, did you go into the fault system before you took the old board out to see if it had a fault registered? If there is a fault on say the motor then the machine will not let you configure a new board. πŸ˜• Many of the fault codes are hidden from the customer and will only show when you go into the test system.

Standard Hotpoint/Creda. Water sloshing about will probably be in the bottom of the element cover where the hot air fan is. Probably needs a good clean of the condensor and the float chamber at the back. Sorry but to clean the float chamber is a pain in the neck job. πŸ˜₯

    Re: Indesit WIDL126UK no power

Open circuit motor can give you the fault of no lights. The only thing the machine will do is lock the door so it appears to be dead πŸ˜•

Just remebered another strange one on one of these. Had one with one of the option buttons stuck in and when you switch on the machine appears to be dead. Customer pointed the jammed button out but thought I would leave it until I sorted out the main problem of dead machine. Replaced module, eprom and door lock with no success and while scratching my head I flicked the stuck button out from inside. Everything lit up! 😳

should be a small button just under the ice maker drive box. Press and hold for a second and it should do a self test. ie. rotate tray to dump ice cubes then rotate back and fill with water.

    Kevin
I am quite happy with the principal of a refrigeration system. What I was after is something in black and white from a recognised body which can be given to the customer. The vast majority of customers do not want to know the principal behind a system they just want to know why they have lost Β£150 of food in a one month old fridge freezer and the engineer is there saying it is her fault for putting it in a garage. It would just save a lot of time and often aggravation if the engineer could give a quick explanation and then say if you don’t believe me then there it is in black and white from the British Refrigeration Society (or some such body). The manufacturers seem to want to hide the fact that their appliances will not work in a cold location. (which can include a lot of kitchens on a cold winters night) To cut costs and produce cheaper appliances they have moved away from twin compressors and twin thermostat/valve units to ones which are controlled by a single stat in the fridge. Less than 14 degrees in the room and the unit does not cycle on often enough to keep the freezer temperature correct πŸ˜• Of course it would save a lot of hassle if the shop staff would actually tell the customers this but a 1{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} chance of losing a sale. No they will just keep their mouth shut and worry about it later. 😑

Terry, if you can come up with a model number I can get the manual printed off. πŸ™‚

Bob , evap heaters and other variations (I think Bosch leave the fridge lamp half on to give the fridge an incorrect reading) make very little difference. They may work down to 10 degrees instead of 14.

Some of the Candy/Hoovers the cables are very tight as they are held in a cable clip at the rear of the cabinet. Remove the clip and you should have plenty of spare cable to get the board right out. πŸ˜€

    Re: Zannusi FJS1225 Burning smell

As Bob says there is no problem meggering an electronic machine so long as you megger between earth and live/neutral. ie short out the live and neutral at the plug and put one lead of your megger to that, the other lead to the earth pin.

If you are only getting the smell on the last rinse then it would be worth disconnecting the second solenoid on the water valve and letting it fill on the first to see if you still get the smell. Its the only thing I can think of that is different on the last rinse compared to the others. πŸ˜•

    Re: Hotpoint WMA63 child lock

    Child Lock
When activated all the buttons will be disabled and a child will not be
able to alter any wash programme or option settings. Once selected this
feature remains activated, even when the machine is β€˜off’.
To use this feature press the β€˜Child Lock’ button once. The child safe icon will
begin to flash. When the icon stops flashing the feature is activated. If any of
the control buttons are pressed, the child safe icon will flash and the machine
will bleep 3 times: no alterations to the control settings will be allowed. If
power is interrupted, at any time, pressing any button will reactivate the child
    lock feature.
To deactivate this feature hold the β€˜Child Lock’ button down for 4
seconds. You will then hear a bleep and the child safe icon will go out.

    Re: aeg f/f door seal

Paul, some of the AEG door seals are of the type where you cut off the old one and the new one has a stiff inner lip which lots behind the remaining edge of the original. If you look at the s3600 pnc number 62151197100 it has a bulletin about this.
Easy job but it definitely needs the superglue to hold it in place. πŸ™

    Re: zanuzzi da6142 dishwasher

The stat on the side of the heater is normally the overheat stat which will cut the power to the element then as soon as it cools it will switch back on. You need to find the normal wash stat or thermistor wich will be located somewhere away from the element.

Just looked at the general spares list. The stat or thermistor is probably attached to the side of the sump. Do you have the PNC number? πŸ™‚

Also a modified back plate out to stop the drum fouling the rear vents and the recessed area where the vent tube fits. It comes with the new enlarged rear seal already fitted. Lots of mods to these dryers due to noise problems. πŸ™„
