Re: are there hp wmd962p drum weight support issues?

hmm well this customer is like a house-sitter/maid/cleaner etc, and does this posh houses washig in their wetroom. shes the only one who does her washing in her home and swears that the only thing entered her machine are clothes as shes the only one with enough gumption to use the thing. i kinda believe her, shes not the thickest plank out there, and yeh, rolled the gasket out, not wetness from on top, but its dribling out from behind the weight, not been able to get a torx bit in there with the front not coming off, to loosen front weight. spoke to hp who were helpful, and agreed to wrire a written engineers report for cust to take up with comet to claim hps callout back, should there be no foreign objects or “inside-to-outside” drum damage

forgot to mention, had the module off, and some of the big blue round caps would not show a circuit, but the smaller ones could. not sure if this is an issue as im sure the 2 caps that wouldnt were not on the same tracks… one for mike im sure ? :

the irony being that they will still fail, and probably even more regularly… theyre just not as likely to catch fire.

the other sad fact is the updated mod part will now be a lot more expensive as a repair spare part, to cover the cost of the service upgrade

hmmm, im fully aware of how daft customers can be, so i had them go back and check on the tub, definitely a sealed one, as according to them, “no visible screw or bolt heads”, but thinking about it, could well have been a wmf560, as it had the indesit type, 4xbolt welded shell, with no front access

of more concern is what effect it will have on the european economy once everything goes east. ok we as a nation have lost our manufacturing, but in the grand economical scale of things, if every w/g brand where a large {e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}age is european, ditches their home plants, and goes to china, that will leave a massive hole in the eu revenue. this, if combined with other departures east in manufacturing could be a massive missile in europe, and could drag down other more independant eu nations like ours through compulsary bailouts…

Re: Whirlpool or Amica Washing Machine?

whirlpools naff and parts expensive, amica better built, but both bit sketchy regarding modules, why not buy the amica from a independant retailer who will almost certainly be signed up to their retailer repair scheme, and get out to you withing a cpl of days, unlike co-op, wo wont. a 2yr warranty is pointless if you have to wait 3 weeks for a service call cos a machines come from a big multiple…

bernie, have you been testing on your visits with an empty load??? just wondering if this has a software glitch which allows oob to kick in on rinse, as ive come across a helluva lot of zanussis that seem to have so many sketchy software issues that allow things that should not happen, to happen…

cust had a 2 yr old wf560p with the first edit/ariston panel. seems it doesnt have the usual £79 quid (trade) wf541 tub which ive put in with relative ease, but a special order one, at £140 (trade). i wud feel gutted for cust if he hadnt admitted he got the machine for £220 special offer at currys, and when i suggested even if we did fit the tub, it may still only see another 2yrs, and did he want to buy a new one? no, he was gonna get another special offer one from currys cos our cheapest machine was too expensive. last time i give free advice >:(

ud think theyd have learnt their lesson, but no, thney just put it down to “bad luck”…

I’ve yet to look at any Chinese product and thought to myself, “what a great bit of well engineered kit”
In my opinion all Chinese domestic appliances are pony.

no disrespect dan, but, by sheer logic, had you seen something well built by the chinese, then it wouldnt have been well built, therefore by not seeing anything well built purely confirms the fact that the well built chinese kit isnt pony… get me?

and dont forget the great myth that anything built in china is crap, pay them enough, and they will build it well, as long as your company designs the product.

i was invited to inspect a replica chinese manufactured kona d/h bike frame. basically the cycle rep went to china with a kona frame, told them to analyse the design and produce a copycat to the same standard, and then work out a price per unit based on a no of containers. quality wise you literally couldnt tell them apart. the welds were as neat, if not better on the chinese one. turns out the price per unit was about 70{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the cost of getting it built in america… and this was after factoring in shipping and tax variables…

the biggest problem with chinese manufacturing is the “please build this as cheaply as possible”
