    Re: hotpoint rf 175 bp

for the more ignorant of us non refrigerationy guys, why would a start cap fix the freezer, sold a few rf’s in my time, and as far as i knew, the fridges werent fed by the freezer as they were statics, surely anything to do with the relay start cap or compressor would affect both fridge and freezer???

    Re: zwf14070 heater

never had to replace a zwf1*070 element, always found the drums collapse before they need a new element!

but seriously, last 12070 i did a drum repair i suggested they may need a new element due to level of calcium, but they declined, so old one was refitted and its still going well, machine is 3 years old now…

either the limescale is really bad and damaging the element prematurely, in which case cust should be descaling more regularly. or theres another fault…

ill speak for lee on this, spoke to a local sf engineer the other week, apparently elux are a pain in the ass, with regards to all the contraints they put on their contract engineers. he was bemoaning the fact that the amount they lose from each SF call out they have to BER has increased meaning there workign even longer hours, in order to complete jobs. snd it doesnt help that the lux machines are becoming more and more easily BER, i understand you SF guys are quite envious of hotpoint/indesits engineers own freedom to BER a job that looks like it will take more than an hour to complete!!

    Re: buyers and sellers bust?

been asked to price match against their rangemaster prices too many times too often. they were making less than £45 on a £2k cooker, and relying on rangemasters own 1 man delivery or 2 man connection services as add ons. this is before you take into account lowest usual c/c processing fee of 2.5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} which on £2000 is… £50…

their may be mourners, but i wont be one of them…

    Re: Dyson Pay Up Front

we declined the dyson sign up, id rather make 8{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} from teh sale of a dyson that i ordered because the customer really wanted it, rather than the hassle of claiming back etc. if connect automatically did that for you, as a credit, i wouldnt mind, but still then theres the minimum 3 uprights 1 1 cylinder and 1 handheld on prominent display in their own bay that really bugs me, we have total space for 7 uprights and 7 cylinders (inc tubs) were still signed up to the miele scheme because miele sells itself. however certainly in these parts people do not come in to definitely buy a dyson, why? cos they are shoyite. bagless has had its day, it was a fad boyed by marketing whizz of dyson, if it was worth investing in, miele and sebo would have designed their own. dysons are still the best bagless, dont get me wrong, but the number of people who have been sold bagless tosh from dyas, supermarkets and the multiples have now gone back to bagged, fpr uprights, either panasonics if they are on a budget, or sebo’s if they want premium quality, or eluxs for budgets, or mieles for premiums.

in all honesty those, and a bit of salesmanship are all you need if your an indie…

Re: do you have to be a Qualified electrician

i tend to electrocute myself with alarming and unintended unfortunate regularity. Bloody customers seem to want to switch isolation points on just before im hardwiring things thinking they are being helpful by turning it off. not realising ive already done that. fortunately ive only been touching 13amps worth lately but im dreading the day i get 45…

got a shock last week when customer thought they were turning the kettle on, and it was the dryer. 👿

so if you dont read a post from me after a month since the last one i think you can guess whats happened… and yes i got a certificate from college for passing a plug wiring lesson. i was one of 6 in a 32 person class. 1998. hope things have improved

Re: Are IKEA cookers any good, or SMEG?

dont get me wrong, smegs are physically solid, but my experience of smegs are expensive parts and poor quality selector switches. and 6 weeks to get hold of if they arent in the country (more than occasionally) plus everybody who ive replaced or repaired smegs have said they dont cook as well as they expected them to. i actually replaced a smeg df 60cm d/o with a cheapy new world df60dss as property was being sold in about a years time, and went we went to look at their washer a few months later they reckoned it cooked better than the smeg…, replaced a smeg a2 with a rangemaster, range master is absolutely loved to bits, sorry but i just dont think smeg are justifiable for what they cost…

the stoves 61edo is a nice machine, but expensive, a belling is virtually identical without the style factor.

id personally avoid a single oven ceramic hob cooker, as the grill tends to get greased up, and then the odd occasion you use it, it will smoke the kitchen out. as far as uk markets go a ceramic 60 d/o cooker is the best value for money, as its the most popular format 🙂

its not 2 years old if the serial is 504…!

your either being lied to or customer has date recognition disorder… or its been sat ina warehouse for 3 years!

a 2 year old vtd00p must be one of the last off the production line, in which case itll have the relay in the interlock, but the serial never normally lies, so id actually also go with it being a fascia located relay

i thought it was lightly touch spin button, turn knob from 12oclock to 6oclock, release, then turn to 7oclock, im prolly wrong, as its late, but if i am, then, is it not possible you were pushing too hard, i know the bosch touch sensitive board doestn respond well to heavy hands.

PS BERNIE, have you used bsh own spares site. http://shop.bshappliancecare.com/

type in the er no and away you go. also worth pricing up between qualtex and connect for bosch special order parts. also remember bosch give 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} discount to phone orders to a trade address 🙂

check wiring / connections to wash heater. they can fill constantly regardless of prog if theres a tag pulled off/left off wash element or loose connection on pcb, and easily forgotton to check if had drum repair 🙂
