ParticipantRe: bosch exxcel dishwasher s9s45e08gb s9g1b
we always check bosch dw modules now as par the course for any repair except obvious blockages, so many seem to be blowing these days (maybe its just down here mind) we got fed up fitting/ordering spares only to find the module is popped anyway. its well worth spending an extra 10 mins doing this as its not difficult and as they are normally so expensive – i.e machine write off, saves you cash in the long run.
ps its a SGS45E08gb/ in case you need to find bits from bsh website

ParticipantRe: wet motor
micky youve been watching too much youtube…
we had a bosch circ motor die because the salt tank burst, dried it out a bit too quick, and it was clogged full of salt crystals. not sure if it was working beforehand but needless to say it had to be re-hydrated and then dried and was a dodo. so um yeh, if you get a salt tank burst might be worth giving it a rinse before drying…

LHS of salad bin, will start with CNK*****
or LHS of bottom freezer drawer, again with a CNK*****
but not see it located there on a f/f, only freezers

ParticipantRe: Zanussi ZWD12270W Wash/Drier – M/C Dead
yeh emw only seem to do all-in-one fascia panel type lux pcb repairs, although i havent come across one of the dual board lux’s that have a module issue without visible burnouts.
Always worth checking the on/off moicroswitch on the display board, and a break in the plastic “spring” legs between fascia button and display pcb.
is there defo power going to the pcb, and not residual pickup from other wires, and if no power sensed on cable, these lux cables are quite short and plug is worth a look as there were two types of moulded ones fitted. chunky ones, and the ones with 2x triangular indents in the outside face of plug. sometimes chunky ones have problems at the neck of the plug, so continuity check between pins and terminal box inside machine.
Obv Also check motor wiring, and depending on age, carbons, worked on a zwf1237 the other day which wouldnt turn on, fascia switch cover had been “glued” in place with sugary drink…

ParticipantRe: More New Faulty Elements
connects pattern ones vary, found 3 ring 2.5kw lux ones are identical spec to oem, same with a couple of their bits, and when it comes to qualtex, if you type in ego there, you will get an ego alternative too.

fully aware of this lee, my post was due to certain customers, similar to the ones you have come across who are essentially snobbish about where things are built. im sure people on here are aware of the certain customers who will ask for something and will walk out if you try to push them something else, because they have just explained to you what they want.
not only that, if someone has specifically requested an appliance to be german made – if you sell them it and its not german, either through your own ignorance, or just because you think you can pull the wool over their eyes, its mis-selling.
this is why i wondered if they have a code on them that can be easily deciphered/recognised as to which plant its come from.
in the same respect i did once have a lady that wanted only british. nothing built in germany or italy or china. she was a bit odd but old enough that it was probably something to do with the war

no its just more of a case to be more clued up when im in the shop, have had a couple of customers come in this week with various “assertions” the sheds have given them
such as “this beko fridge freezer comes out of the bosch plant in turkey…”
and im thinking um sorta…
and “ive been told by my engineer to only buy a german made bosch as some are made in turkey and spain, but i dont want any complicated electronics”
shes in her 80s and does one wash a week. we agreed the logixx were prolly a bit overkill just to have the made in germany tag, apart from that she wanted to spend under £400… so draw your own conclusions.
washer wise, i was under impression gernerally avantixx w/d was wuxi, tacticals were polish or wuxi, and classixx, avantixx and some exxcels were balay… is this about right?

ParticipantRe: zanussi fjd1666w not filling with water
not the question i asked though marcus!
a little review of the situation:
you dont want to unnecessarily buy parts that have not failed.
you have no access to a meggar to test elements till new year
testing a 3 stage p/s requires the ability to hold your breath pressure, i.e bit like playing trumpet etc and i cant remember the exact confiurations of o/c an c/c between the 4 terminals
iirc the end of L7 it will drain to a level lower than the drum so the dryer can be actuated – this iirc is controlled by the white p/s not the analogic one, and of course, if its gone askew, will either drain all the water, or not enough out, either parameter will show up as a fault, because the p/s needs to recognise there is enough water to allow condensing to happen, other wise it will just create a lot of steam in the drum, or too much water which means when its drying it will just soak clothes, but iirc, its the analgic black ps that tells the elment whether its ok to kick in.
arrrgh, just drain the sump anyway and make sure, you might get rich regardless of whether its causing the issue 😀 at least then you can categorically guarantee its free from obstruction, at least until the meggar is available 😀
