    Re: Indesit washing machine explodes

probably well overloaded too… (dog, 2+ young kids)

bit of journalistic expressionas well. “exploded” “lights tripped out” and “bomb gone off” “we could have been killed” not really dear, the w/m has just wrecked itself. surprised bits of it were found in the other room tho. looks fairly complete in the picture to me…

and if the kithcens tatty or even just a few years old now she should be grateful at how much of a compensation indesit are offering. bloody freeloaders. Ive struggled to get indesit to replace a 14month old hotpoint before now…

and excalibur would have been a poor choice of name for the dog if he had had a heartattack.

heya seamy yeh i know that cos already tried a new ps!

anyway, went and got one out of the shop display machine just in case the ordered one might have been a dud or customer return,

go back to whack the shop ps in and bam. i realised my mistake…

stupid connecter feels like its in when actually needs to be pushed in deeper than it appears. damn tiredness…

so just wasted an afternoon scouring for clues and getting a ps i didnt need out of a w/m i didnt need to touch >:(

yet another comet promotional machine tho “we bought it cos it had £100 off”

    = low – argos/comet/currys own brands
    = med – amica
    = high – statesman, zanussi?

incidentally d.a.d told me that their batch of chinese zanussi’s had a load of pcb failures.

by truly stuffed do you mean resistance wise or well and truly cooked, cos so far i havent had a single cooked element hence asking 🙂 maybe the customers round here are just dippy blondes who are persistant door openers.

Re: John Lewis own make or Miele?

Well Electrolux have the contract to produce majority of JL appliances. And elux own zanussi… so it might be worth making a cheeky call and finding out where the JL comes from.

Id also err away from miele, overpriced when you can get the same spec from Liebherr, who produce refrigeration for miele.

Alternatively 140-160 height gets you a hotpoint (dont go for frost free hotpoints tho) or vestfrost or a bosch

the other thing with the miele, the bins are rather narrow to account for their a+ & a++ efficiency obsession, so i would inspect in person before making any choice. after all its no good having a longlasting freezer you cant fit the food you want to in is it….

Re: Best 60cm DW for a rental house

beko (cheap) statesman (basic range with 2yr p&l guarantee) or bosch (statement) or siemens (premium)

if its premium id steer away from milele as their call outs are ridculous and as a landlord youll be forced into paying a premium to have it fixed if its just blocked.

all 4 are easy to use and wash well, built well (respective of their price) and easy to work on and get parts for.

hotpoint indesit hoover candy zanussi aeg haier etc are all more hassle than they are worth. smeg are poorly built for the price, and gorenje dw are either chinese or smegs now. no more bosch built gorenjes :*(

Also you havent stated whether it needs to be integrated or freestanding?

Re: Indesit IS70C Dryer – Thermostat

for t/d stats itll be approx £20ish + labour/callout (between £35-60 inc vat depending on who you get, unless its indesit in which case it will be £106)

remember some companys charge separate call outs which can include (or not include diagnosis – *cough* premier electrics) + labour, some have free call outs and charge only the labour and some will charge a combined fixed callout + labour charge. almost everyone will charge parts as extras, cos u dont know what a machine will need until youve looked at it!

best bet to get it sorted is to click the fine an engineeer link below 🙂

oh and elements are about £45-70, but the stats tend to fail first which protects the element from burning up.

Re: Ariston w/m A1636S spinning before draining

had this on a 6mnth old wdl540 the other week, with the same swing arm drawer. it would also work a1 with no load, but minute there were clothes in htere it displaces the water and raises the water level, that also spun faster than i thought it should when draining

thing was this had the front filter with absolutely zilch in it but dog fur all above the ecoball cup making a near waterproof seal.

dont think the ariston has a front filter, just a sump and rear pump??? which youve said is clear. is it possible something else has since found ts way down now yourve cleared it once already???

and i know its not recomended as a permanent fix but try taking the ball out for a couple of washes and seeing if that cures the issue. then youve got your answer. it might be soap residue is sticking your ball to the top of the cup, if theres no blockage. try a good wash thru of the whole sump-pump hosing

    Re: Bosch WFT2806GB/14

goose, are these teh models where you have to replace the collar with a collar that has a cartridge brush system which allows you to use the std slide in bosch carbons?

only asking cos had a customer bring in one of those (tactical ?) “one-shot” motors because he couldnt see how to replace the carbons on it.

anyway, ordered the collar he was back few hours later cos motor didnt turn and wanted a refund, just wondered now you mentioned that if thats what hes done…

oh and came up for the best comeback to “its my right to a refund within 28 days” for this a*hole of a customer…

“sir, where does it say we are running a library for spare parts? exactly, you bought it, you didnt borrow, loan or hire the spare part, notwithstanding it was also a special ORDER”
