Re: Boach Exxcel 1400 faulty motor?

mr chris, i think you misread me!

If you re-read it, WL asked if it could be the o/o/b/c and i was saying it was rather unlikely because if that was the case, and it wasnt the motor components at fault- i.e they were working ok, it would spin happily with an empty drum on a spin only prog,

therefore of course if it wasnt spinning with empty drum it was highly likely to be a motor fault. correctomundo?

ps i might have been a bit too economical with words/lazy which might be why it came across as anything other than the above… 😕

are you unable to find the model number?

serial number looks like a servis-type of s/n

also why do you need to know btw?

cheers guys, will have another crack at it tonight – picked it up to run it in the workshop where i can piddle about on here while im waiting for various things to complete 😀

wasnt sure whether the inlet sol was ok to swap for the dispenser sol, but if thats safe then coolios, also with regards to the suppressor for future reference, is it ok to remove suppressor and connect the mains feed cables earth to earth from supp, the live to the red off the supp, and the neutral to the white off the supp? obviously insulating all 3 suitablly and keeping away from any water as its right next to the solenoid to avoid any shorts. i know it will probably screw with the pc, but will it be harmful to anything else? and no i dont have a pacemaker…

sounds very much like the 1st part of the diagnostic run showed the “detect flow meter” when not fitted e7 error, which was my fault but that doesnt sound like thats reason why its thrown up the first light constant and 5th flashing.

PS which is the soak light?

also, dont own a meggar, will i be able to still detect the earth leak with a standard multimeter if takign the lead off the circ motor doesnt sort it? or is the level of leakage im looking for likely to be so low it wont be beefy enough to pick it up?

    Re: Leisure Rangemaster 110 Timer

if youre a connections user, youll need to either locate a s/n, or failing that, remove the part and match it up – I know in the past connect rarely use rangemaster model numbers because the most model will use the same core components (other than styling/cabinet specific parts) and because they tend to be faily long running, supply of certain parts will vary for the same model. spec updates are obviously ongoing but the model names dont change, just the s/n… so spares are run off the s/n as that will refer to its production run as well. there should be at least a serial number on the back?? sometimes the purchaser will often write it on the handbook somewhere too

definitely a smeg its exact same control panel as in the pic, i just didnt see much point in taking a picture, when there was one already on the forum.

as for the pulsing i dont think it is one – i think inadvertantly stopped that as half the spinner arm had a sliver of polythene food wrap in one side, im guessing thats why it appeared to sound like it, as afterwards it made continuous splashing sound during diagnostic mode.

the only worry ive got now is that i might have set it to diagnostics for d/w with a flow meter, and its now stuck there because its expecting one to be there but isnt, cos when i looked on any of connects mediator images… i couldnt spot one.

also couldnt spot any fault with the supprosr other than it felt a little sticky as tho it was covered in a bit of the resin, nothing visually untoward…

also if your width restricted good luck getting a different model off hotpoint/merloni

r48 and rfa 52 qre your only options if you can handle being un-frost-free

hotpoint and indesit dont make any other 55cm wide f/f fridge freezers…

    also:

customer rung up today and thought what id found out it was doing was completely the opposite to what she had experiencedas it wasnt stopping at all in the home, it just kept running and running, then it stopped and wouldnt turn back on…

Finally worked out how to do the 4 presses in 3 seconds ( i think i was pushing it too fast) and got it to start up in diagnostic mode. went through the first test, it stopped for about 5 mins so opened door, looked inside, frist second and thurd lights were flashing, shut it and it started again and it went onto the warm test, did that finished but now wont carry on, as the first light (prewash?) and fifth (intensive pot/pan) is flashing.

Also i cant seem to get it out of diagnostic mode now!?!

PS dispenser drawer went pop like it was supposed to on diagnostic, and gets nicely warm…

further edit… tested with dispenser from zanussi – same size and spec – 220-240v / 50-60hz frequency… still nothing

checked in and around base slight dampage around anti flood poly slifter but when checked with the blowtube it engaged and disengaged. so cant be stuck

im now at a loss as to what to do. it would be great if i could now take it out of diagnostic mode… ?!?
