Re: hotpoint aquarious tumble dryer TDC 30

obv switch off and plug out first

then check heater circuit for open circuit.

if open, check heater element for open circuit, if not then replace thermostats and clear all airways of fluff build up to prevent any re-offence.

no transit bolts that i know of, dont even think they have any polystyrene lumps either as most bosch polystyrene td bases are square with square holes in the middle.

was the retailer independant (local shop) or a multiple (i.e. john lewis, comet or currys)

if the latter, u would prolly have to have the brands service agent out if its the first get hte local indie out to hear it. make sure u ask for the most experienced engineer available tho 😛

the prestige is almost certainly a chinese made comet own brand special, i would avoid as ive recently had a few calls about short lived frigidaires that seem to share the same carcass. of course they may have different compressors etc but id still be warey.

first thign would be to note the compressor activity, and effectiveness.

first put a thermometer in the fridge and in the freezer.

have a clock nearby and for 2-3 hours in an evening note when the compressor kicks in and kicks out and back in. should be approx every 25-30 mins for about 5-10 mins… note the temp of the fridge and freezer compartments at the beginning and end of your noting, and do this for 2-3 days.

    report back with results…

    Re: teka (again) ADW6 59 FI VR02 – the symptoms…

right, have since been out to it

    drains.
    fills.
washes – for 5-10 mins then stops.
    wont do anything
    no error light codes
    nothing.
    just stops
open door, shut it, drains then restarts.
heater has continuity. not checked it for insulation yet though…
circ pump is ok cos it does power through the spinners fine. (zanussi pulse type)

this happens on all progs, the light of the selected prog stays lit. doesnt flash…

    any ideas?

cant seem to fathom it, other than the old school route of assuming its the pcb… cos everything else works.

    whats the point ?

for the effort of changing them, the brushes are cheap enough. should be less than £20 for a pair, and youll have all the life of a new set. second hand ones might be 75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} gone!

dont get me wrong im all for recycling spares, but only the bits worth re-using!

p.s she is shutting the door hard enough isnt she? they need a firm shove and push, something us will do but customers wont…

went out to a w200 today that wasnt starting. door was shit but wouldnt do anything. shoved it hard and it worked. seems the hinge hearers had worn. thing was i had to write the machine off as the drum was so loose it was hitting the inners. oddly enough the elderly customer hadnt even noticed the noise.

bless her i think her hearing was on the complete opposite sliding scale to the increase of the noise of the machine…

might sound obvious but when you say theres power down the lead did you check continuity for both the live and the neutral, or just used a light noise making thingy electricity tester to find out?

Re: Hotpoint Aquarius WMA30 – Door wont Open

good indicator of the blocked pump is if the waste hose is lying on the floor from its exit on this machine, (over a *very* shallow but capacious vessel) gravity would take a hold so if its blocked at all it shouldnt allow water thru into it, or if it does, extremely slowly.

if it gushes out its unlikely to be blocked unless the pump is being jammed with hairclips etc in which case it nromally grunts with dissatisfaction 😛
