ParticipantRe: Servis M2410S
My ‘special friend’ at Electrue has just rung me to say my account is too small to do it! Management won’t allow it! 😕
But when I gave her that timer part number and asked for a price slash, she came back with the price of £29.25 😆

Cheers Dave,
They’re being abit arsey about it, but I think I can get it done. Thanks for the tip. I’ve just used the mediator before to get genuine part numbers, but it doesn’t like some models. Global search is alot better.
P.s Got the timer price down to £37 from Electrue 😆
Special order and £47 from parts-centre!! :rotl:

OK! Thank you people.

…well three. My mind is at rest now, knowing I’ve just had three freak occurances.
Like I said….It’s our top selling machine, and we have lots covered by our own warranty.
It good to know I might not have to buy new PCB’s for all of them. 🙂
Saying that…..The inner bearing seems to collaspe alot, on the stainless steel tub model! 😉 We have a very, very soft water and over-soaping problem in this area though.

Im praying it’s not common.
I forgot to say, the first one I (the boss) had was on a Siemans. Same thing, selector switch, PCB, faulty door lock, splattered brain.
The boss, (in his superior wisdom) told the owner to get BSH-man to it.
Because this was our machine, he went back after for a progress report. Apparently BSH-man had blown up a new PCB before putting a door lock on it. Not UKWG’s BSH-man of course. This was about 5 years ago, went nobody had heard of this problem, I think not ever BSH-man, since he blew a PCB.
The thing is, the boss noticed the old PCB was covered in carbon dust from the brushes, and wondered if this had contributed to the problem.

I assure you, it’s very true.
At first I thought it was a freak occurance, but I keep getting more and more of them.
Any model with a selector switch instead of a timer. The whole machine is run off a PCB in the facia, and when the door lock goes ‘OC’, the PCB gets big patches of track blown off it.
And yes, I’ve tried resoldering the track, but it never seems to work, because of fried chips. (Hmmmmm, fried chips.)

ParticipantRe: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?
Sorry to revive this topic again, but my blood is boiling as I type!!!!
A customer has just cancelled a ‘big’ job this afternoon because they used my advice to ‘ring around’ and found a engineer that can get there 2 hours before I can. I hate them! I hate them! I hate them! I hate them! I hate them! I hate them! I hate them! I hate them! :haier:
Ps. 1 more reply (like ‘shut up goatboy!’) and this topic reaches 100!

ParticipantRe: 0870 Phone Numbers
For Electrue i do – 01217 666222 – That gets you through to the phone monkey’s.
The most useful number is technical enquires (which is why i’m never asking in that forum) – 01217 6622055
And customer services – 01217 662210

ParticipantRe: How long do manufacturers have to supply spares?
Are you telling me they have changed the design of that pump? Why bother?
This is s/h info, but i think they have changed the material, and now there’s a problem with the seal leaking.

ParticipantRe: Zanussi Nexus FL1082 / 014789553
The pipes are the wrong way around!
It’s confusing on a Zanussi because they use red plastic for the cold fill tap thingy, then white plastic for the hot one.
Also the Italian words for hot and cold (printed on there too) are misleading.
I’d bet money the pipes are the wrong way around! Anyone fancy a wager? 😉
