Re: Crusader Tumble dryer (CT61C) stops

There’s a classic fault on these dryers, when after a few minutes the dryer stops, and it can’t be started again for around 10 minutes. But while it is working, the drum, motor and heating parts work fine.

    Is this the fault?

    Re: Dyson DC07 FIRE!

The DC07 have a cheap disposable motor in them 🙁

They overheat alot because the bin assy gets blocked up, in the top where it can’t be split.

It sounds like the cut-out on the motor hasn’t worked 😕 and the things overheated to the point of the motor setting on fire?

    All IMHO of course :hide:

    Nuclear repairman 😉

And the customer wonders why it’s broken.

It’s like that guy in the public washers forum that has dropped a knife in his Bosch 🙄

Last thing I need is for it to block the hose and water flood back out of the dispenser drawer all over my new floor. Easy way of getting it out? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    How do you answer that?

I mean, are they made by Hotpoint, are are they a copy. Copies cause overheating problems!

The female connections that goes over the pins have to be very tight, or because of vibration, the connection will become loose, and burn.

It sounds like the motor could of overheated. Of course I’m guessing, but if the brushes seem ok, that is what I would look at next.

The motor could overheat because of a loose conection (mentioned 😉 ), or over-use after replacing the brushes (they aren’t the right shape at first and need a few easy washes to ‘bed in’), or general over-use, like doing two washes in a row without giving the motor time to cool down, or oversoaping, or non-genuine brushes sold cheap on feebay (mentioned)

The problem is, we have to find out if the thermal fuse in your motor has blown, or the armature has blown, or your PCB has blown 🙁

    Unplug the machine before looking.

Re: Hotpoint Brushes and drum problem – sooty

    Did you use genuine brushes?

It sounds like you might not have tightened the connection tight enough, so it has got very hot, and burnt 🙁

The brushes might of overheated, and are now stuck in the holders, or the motors armature could be damaged 🙁 🙁

    Engineer time me thinks 😕
