    Re: My Home Connect?

I also had a call left on my machine when I returned from holiday.Didn’t even think of calling them back due to work load and reading many previous threads on this forum about this type of operation. I happen to know the where this outfit is based, Many small units on an old factory site in the hart of Essex chavland. Be carefull.

Talking about selling to the general public, Called to a job the other day to fit a DW tube heater bought by the customer from Nopoint. Happened to glance at the invoice and it was suspiciously yellow. 😛 Good thing was the customer fitted tthe first heater but didn,t tighten the hose clips enough and flooded the base of the machine which blew the brand new heater. Oh how I laughed 🙂 He asked me to supply and fit another heater and I charged him £60. He returned the faulty part to Connect/Hotpoint who offered to refund the cost of the origiinal if found to be faulty, But I think that that this repair is going to cost him 2 x £40 Plus my £60. I think he has learned his lesson 😆 😆 😆

I would say PCB!, I was involved with a Smeg with exactly the same fault, Tried everything except change the PCB due to the high cost. Customer bought a new machine ( Haier 😥 ) which I installed for her and I nicked the board before it was dumped, Just out of interest tried fitting the board to another machine and it had the same fault, So must have been PCB all along But at about £130 its proberly going to be a BER.

    Re: BSH Instanteneous Heaters?

Martin, I have read on the forum that someone has removed the heater to inspect the element for cause of failure, So would it not be possible for one of the pattern boys to produce an element that could be fitted into the Bosch boxes?. I have had a run of BSH Heater failures lately, And the price of the replacement boxes makes most of the jobs BER.

Gertrude, Your guy was very wise to leave it alone as I have had some dealings with this brand and with regards to the free standing cookers, They make Haier look look like a quality product . Apparently an outfit in Barking Essex, Imports and distributes the brand but forgot to make arrangments to supply spare parts 8O. If you call in person they will supply a spare but it would be scavenged from a returned appliance, Which before long will be every appliance they have sold.

    Avoid like the plauge

Would you know if the mod to the switch applies to a 811730195 as well?
