Yes, pin still in position otherwise you wouldn’t get the buzz/click from the door lock.

Original Design thats a laugh…we all know (or should do) that Indesit design leaves alot to be desired.. Personally what I do with these is seal with debore then tape them up and twist as best as poss from heater, normally able to get it far enough away, If not a bit of closure plate tape round aswell wouldnt hurt….

Yeah the front fans on these go elliptical abit in shape and make a hell of a noise also I’ve had a few where the rear fan comes loose as well when replacing these its important to get the clip on the right way….I’ll try to explain…if you get the split/cut in the fan spindle at 12 and 6 o’clock put the clip on so that it excerts its presure at 3 and 9 o’clock…Hope you understand what I mean ❗ ❗

You need to take the heater box of the top of drum and I think you’ll find the cause of problem….Fluff (9 times out of 10) also check to make sure the cold valve is letting water thru…

I’m afraid the only real solution to this problem is to change the drum, the new ones have a different profile giving a bigger gap between back of drum and cabinet… sorry.

Re: Ariston AWD12S – Dryer failure

You haven’t identified one heater for both functions, by the sounds of it you’ve found the dryer heater element (if its the one up top in a aluminium casting sitting on top of the drum).

The most common reason for not drying is if the one shot stat or thermal fuse has gone open circuit (check for continuity thru this part, M/C UNPLUGGED)

lift lid from back as best as poss then smack it hard with the heel of your hand at the front left and right hand sides, they can be a bugger but they will give… 😀

If you board has been changed previously you should be able to transfer across, if not then the original will be soldered on to old board, may even be a diff type. Sorry!!!

Re: Ariston margherita A1324 HELP Please

8 flashes usually indicates heater relay fault or associated with that, I doubt it would be the heater, more likely to be board edge connector or if your unlucky the board itself, one other thing you could check is the pressure switch and hose. Take hose off p/switch and blow down it to see if p/chamber is clear and also gently blow into p/switch you should get a good possitive click (obviously this is all done with m/c disconnected from mains)

Re: How do I fit belt around vtd00 drum?

Stretchy belts on these things can be a real pain to fit back onto motor shaft after fitting onto drum, I find the best way is to remove the front panel completely! put black plastic tube to the side for now, put replacement belt into bowl of boiling water for a minute or two then pre stretch it a bit..pass belt round drum and stretch onto motor shaft..Refit front panel and the you can refit the black plastic tube from the rear..
    Hope this helps abit.
