Re: non genuine Hotpoint dryer shaft kit – rubbish

Thats funny because I’ve been having problems with the non gen qualtex QUAPLY40 jockey wheels as well. They’ve been lasting about 3 months and then failing. For the price difference now I just order the genuine ones.

Yeah, it’s little consolation knowing it’s not just me but its still hard going waiting for it change. Fingers crossed for next week.

Yes, its our 25 year this year and it has got to be the quietest yet. The year started well but this last month has been the worst on record. I was hoping it would pick up this week but it seems to be worse. Roll on the end of the month, hopefully everybody has been waiting to be paid.

Strange times!! Lets just hope it picks up next week. I can’t cope with another few weeks of just ticking over, with a big tax bill hanging over me.

Sorry to bring this old chestnut up again, but is anybody else quiet?
Its just interesting to know what other peoples work loads are like. I’ve found most of the time the trends are the same all over the country but I am going through a quite spell at the moment and it would just be interesting.

Amazingly I looked at the diary from last year and the same week in June was it was also quiet. About the same workload as this. Last month about the same time, just after the bank holiday, I was absolutely snowed under and was literally working all hours to fit the work in.

I just wish I could put my finger on why the works dropped off, its not the end of the month, weathers not great so people are still using their dryers. Maybe people paying for their summer hols? Even my regular contributors, 5 or 6 estate agents haven’t rung anything through.

Its amazing how it never fails to go quiet just around the time I have to get ready to pay the tax bill. Great!!!

    Re: Prima LPR827/01 Handle

Just a quick question if anybody can help. Is this a double oven or a single and if it is a double are both handles the same part number.
    Many thanks

    Re: Vehicle

I currently drive a Citroen Belringo enterprise van. PDC, sat nav and aircon, brand new about £8500 plus vat (i’m Vat registered so makes no difference to me) and gives 48 MPG foot to the floor most of the time. I’ve had about 4 now, change every 3 years and, i’m touching wood as I type this, never had a major fault. I did have a Citroen Nemo a few years ago and that was great as well, good MPG just got a little small in the end, but I swear by Citroen for their vans.

Re: rubbish non genuine dryer capacitors

I’ve had two of this type go down after about two weeks and they were both on Hoover/Candy dryers. Just put it down as a coincidence but its very interesting you mentioning it. Thats news to me on replacing it through the front fan. I’ll give that a go next time!!

I’ve had this before when the front of the drum didn’t go perfectly into the plastic bearing sleeves around the front. It either needs refitting or the bearing pads are worn. It’s looked like it was all lined up but when I took it all part again it was out of shape and when it warmed up, the drum starts to scrape the cabinet. Not had it often but I always check now.

Only way to be sure is to Megger the machine and its components. Its probably the motor or heater but without doing an earth check, you’re just guessing.

It was the wrong switch after all when I ordered it and tried to fit it. The one I needed is the round version, the one I saw on connect. Don’t know why it is listed for this model but it is wrong.
    Regards
    Nick
