    Re: Lux Air extractor pcb

Your not wrong there Dave, yeah i’m 44 this year and I only went into the business to help my dad out while he was busy and here I still am. Tbh i’ve probably had the best year for a long while this last year so things aren’t all that bad and there are a lot worse jobs I could be doing for less money. I did think about having a change about 5/6 years ago when things were tight, but I can’t complain.

    Re: Lux Air extractor pcb

Cheers Dave, it is defo the board, I took it out completely yesterday to check everything over on it. There was a bubble on one of the components and like I said power going into it. I always pull them out just to check for dry joint, blown tracks, cracks etc. I done many over the last 30 years and like you say many a time a bulb has caused it, but not this time.
I have replaced a few lux air panels over the years and have had to used their website to source them from memory but I think their spares page is down. I’ll give them a call tomorrow.

    Cheers

    Re: Lux Air extractor pcb

Thanks for the web link but I took at look at that yesterday. The page is either not working or it didn’t recognise the model number.
I’ve had a look at the pcb, I’ve had many a bulb blow over the years and theres no blown tracks or black marks inside but there is power getting in. So I know it’s definately this. I’ve had many a pcb blow with a lamp and it’s had the 3amp fuse in tbh.

I’ll give them a call, cheers

Cheers Dave, that’s the thing, a control knob is the official term for it this time on connect.

    Many thanks

No problem, just wondered if it was a job that you remembered or not off the top of your head. I’ve never come across this fault code. Don’t worry, its not urgent

Ive got the same fault on this oven. Did the probe work or was it the PCB.
    Thanks

Re: Bosch heatpumps failing on install,is it just me??

I’m in a very soft water area, North West England and can honestly say I’ve never been back to one i’ve fitted. I have had quite a few heaters go o/s over the last few years on these heat pumps but of all the ones i’ve fit, ive never been back. So you may be right, it may be a hard water issue.

Yes, i’ve noticed that more and more of Qualtex spares seem to be out of stock. Simple things like Whirlpool/Hotpoint brushes etc. Like you, connect seem to be getting more and more business from me.

Cheers Dave, top man. At least theres a description on the parts instead of just saying regulator like connect and qualtex.
    Thanks

Thanks for the info. Its defo not a blockage, like I said I got it working with the door open to test the flow and it was very strong. Ive got the NTC and cut outs ordered.
    Thanks

Re: Difference between Bosch heat pumps

Thanks for the replies. I thought there had to be some difference, it just wasn’t obvious from the photos.
It looks a pretty easy enough job and like you say Tim there isn’t too much between the two in trade prices. I’ll have to keep one on the van in future and undercharge the retail. I must have had about 10 in the last year with the heater blown.

    Thanks again

I’ll be honest, I’ve swapped quite a few of these. I dont even bother to try and repair them. Qualtex and connect have non gen versions which are identical to the original for £11.00 QUADWP01
