is the thermister
helo_75
Participantif the thermistor was faulty or out of calibration, the machine would show an f3 fault
to be fair, they dont fail very often, and a heater element should cure your fault
i think theres two different heaters on that machine, so it may be worth taking it out and measuring it
thermisters are inexpensive, and may well be worth changing at the same time if your not surelet us know how u get on

oh well, prey tell, mr clever cloggs what would you say?

for future reference, mr seaton, when i require an opinion from you, ill make a point asking you, until then.. go away
helo_75
Participantduff heater? its the only fault that would wouldnt show a fault code
helo_75
Participantoh, and sludge in the drain outlet can cause that, doesnt allow the machine to breath

ParticipantRe: Indesit WIDL102 washer/dryer flashing LEDs
actually, it does matter, if the end of the drain hose itself is lower than the water level, it will cause the machine to syphon
much like syphoning petrol out of a tank, once the pipe is lower than the level of the petrol in the tank, and a vacuum is created, the petrol will syphon until theres none left
mr p is spot on, the end of the hose must ultimately be higher than the water level of the machine.. thats why theres usually a red line on the back of the machine somewhere
basic physics really

Participantthe last post was a joke , by the way… hotpnt is spot on
if you must try and save, get a zanussi or a bosch, dont buy hotpoint on the grace of your old machine, you’ll only be dissapointed!!
helo_75
Participantwell, theres a nice looking machine in comet, bargain price, fast spin, silver under £200
reliability the same as bosch
its called HAIER
helo_75
Participanthave you seen a hotpoint 3 phase motor yet? im starting to wonder?
helo_75

helo_75
Participantlol, yeah, but that doesnt make any money

completlystumped wrote:Hi,
we have a bwd129, the filter cover is a right pain to remove best solution is to use a set of grips and keep turning from left to right whist pulling at the same time hope this helps .,
also hope its the last problem you have with the machine {see clicking bwd 129}
…… and at some point youll snap the handle off and leave a hole, or at best break off the rear filter bit, which is integral to the way the machine empties
best way is to unplug it , take the pump off properly, remove rear base of pump, take out foreign object and reassemble
as the two guys have already said, it WILL be something in there, and that certainly isnt the machines fault…
they might be a pile of rubbish, but sometimes, you cant just put it down to that

Participanti reckon
the pin to activate the door switch has fallen off
open the door
just above the door opening is a small hole.. on the door, in the same place should be a small shaft attatched to it which locates into the hole, activating the switch
it could be bent, or missing!!
proofs in the pudding… stick a screwdriver in the hole, then press start
if it starts, its the pin thats the problem!!!
let us know how u get on, please
helo_75
Participantbut then the door locks where always a nit iffy on the tdl range.. always a good place to start
