Participantbecause it switches off while the heater’s on ( or isnt as the case is)
the machine then waits till it’s defrosted, and theres where the problem lies
faulty heater?

Participantactually – (and from me, this is rare) i quite like these dryers
the build up of water is usually caused by the hole from the rear of the condenser to the pump is blocked, thats all
yes i fix a lot of them, but its the faults that keep us, the engineers going…
i nearly ALWAYS change the capacitor, and i rarely go back for a while

Participantnot long before hotpoint join them

Participantnope its perfectly normal, most modern machines use very little water
i take it the machine is washing and cleaning your clothes properly, and they come out clean?
its fine, worry about it not

Participantwell, door lock wires come directly from pcb, so yep, has to be
and theres more than 1 pcb /eprom for that model too………
helo_75
Participantyes, we know
trust me , we KNOW

Participanthas to be said, ive changed a couple of tubs, but theyre not THAT bad
paddles are a problem, but other than that.. not bad at all
now, the wd440? that should have a thread of its own

Participantall well and good john paul
board identification for the customer isnt always easy
but, if your insistant… you need to know whether the board has a j10 connection or not
next, the eprom, or software variant
several issued
1 ) hot and cold fill
2 ) cold fill
3 ) cold fill (2 of) with ‘hot’ flush
4 ) new heater boxisnt the easiest thing to figure, and this would require some input from the customer, emw cant be responsible for the eprom programming – what if some informations wrong? it simply wont work
are you trade johnpaul? do you have trade access?
if not your missing out on some healthy debate and excellent tech helphope this post helps

Participantyou dont just need a pcb.. youll need an erom, and thats dependant on variant/heater box type/ valves fitted
to be honest it would be cheaper to have hotpoint fit a new board and eprom, it would certainly be your cheapest option
bloody annoying, paying them to fix something they couldnt build properly

Participantquestion?
does your grill have 2 heat settings? i.e full or half?
maybe your using the wrong setting ny putting it on half grill?
if not, theres a good chance the grill element is faulty
helo_75
Participantif its intermittent, its more likely to be a pcb fault tbh
