usual suspects are the on off switch itself

    then the door lock

they do tend to melt the terminals on the on/off switch on the live side

    plug out if checking

yes, its quite common but its worth checking the wires in the motor plug first.

    the pcbs are just unreliable

f01 is a motor triac fault

its always worth checking the wiring loom from pcb to motor, but quite often, its the pcb

    faulty tacho/wiring or pcb

check the tacho hasnt cracked or broken off first
then the loom, then the dreaded pcb fault

    good luck

like u say, best thing is to get it apart and look

take off the motor, all hoses, and the door seal must be unhooked at the front!

theres white pins at the top of the legs which will pull out if you push in the locking tab

be wary though , these are heavy drums, so take the weight off from the back

then you can lift the drum out with the springs at the top

some people put something under the drum to help support the weight

take your time and be methodical, make note of all the wiring,,etc and youll be ok

the tub then splits by undoing all the bolts around the middle

    hope that helps!

    ooh, another smart comment

so as an ‘engineer’ you’d be happy to strip one of the worst machines in the world down, buy parts, refit em and hope its ok? or just ring comet and get it done free, or even exchanged?

of course thats not helpful at all, is it
