and here, in this space, is the answer

    the defrost heater isnt working

bosch have now decided to introduce yet another modification, which, ridiculously takes a good engineer a minimum of 2 hours to modify the evaporartor/defrost heater assembly.. only time will tell if this actually works

they should do with them what theyhotpoint should do with the vtd dryer – start with a blank piece of paper, and make something else!!

yet for bosch, this is greatly out of charachter, for years theyve been manufacturing quality appliances… on askin the tech guy @ bosch about them. he answered ‘people want blown air frost frees now, wet walls are an old idea”

old idea yes.. reliable? we all know the answer..

    ill shut up now

now, you see, i fit the 1701658 belt on those, seem to last

and theyre the same belt as the early condensers, so i always have one with me

yep, try a couple of washers on the back of the shaft, its just a matter of keeping the drum away from the back, but thats why the new seals a bit thicker
you can buy a modified back panel, with that bit cut out better, but then youll need the modified fans, and the modified fan cover, that was one of the earlier ‘fixes’that didnt work

however, think of this (on a lighter note) if you leave it scraping, at some point, it will wear the metal away, so its bound to shut up!!!

anyway, back to my original statement ( i’ve dome some messin with those dryers, i got ‘vtd arm’ i got so many scars)…………………..

you really need to change the drum to cure it

there is the kit that might help. which changes the front supports, the felt at the back, and a washer is placed between the back of the drum and the rear panel. its designed tio try and push the drum forward!

well, the 2yr question? noone knows, not even hotpoint, although it is possible, as petalpop says, that the shaft is worn or even the bearing.. all the bits are included in the kit.. part number 1703080

you could try it, some work, some need a drum, its certainly the cheaper option

parts available, as always, from the helpful guys at ukwhitegoods

hope this helps.. hang in there – the newer generation have other, different problems!

    bosch

    just not the kgn33/34 models

    zanussi tend to be reliable

of course, its down to the individual, its all about space/design rather than cost to be honest, thats probably why you went for beko? bags of room inside, good price

    your call, hope this helps?
