Participantahem
id put money on it being blocked full of ice, so id go along with the 48hr defrost kit
itll probably need the drain hole heater conversion, its about the right kind of age
trouble is, if you defrost it and its working when the bosch guy comes, theres a good chance he’ll charge you
good luck….

ParticipantRe: Do you use customers toilet?
omg
😳 2 occasions spring to mind
the first was when i was really really desperate, and i had to go.. sat down, did what i had to do, looked over.. and NO TOILET PAPER
looked over , saw some ‘wet wipes’ great i thought, thatll do
except they were mr muscle toilet cleaning wipes, with bleach :rolls:
u got no idea how that felt
i dont think its wise to tell u of the second one
luckilly, theres plenty of mcdonalds around where i work 😆

Participantyep. change the element at the earliest convenience
it tripped because it expanded, due to lack of airflow, cracked, and allowed moisture ingress – the cracks will still be there!
it WILL go again, so id recommend changing it before it goes again, allowing things to keep tripping will, ultimately, cause damage to the stat/clock/selectorhope this helps

Participanthave you tried completely defrosting it for 36hrs?
that might be worth a try!
dont buy anything merloni, and youll probably be okay
bosch seem the best buy at the minute, as long as its not that kgn3400 thing, but i believer theyve cured those machines now

basically what uve done paul is the equivalent of bypassing the thermal fuse
u never took the time to wonder WHY the THERMAL fuse had gone? and what its purpose was/is?
honestly, manufacturers spend millions per year in the development of these components. you should email them and save them a fortune
just another self modification post, and it should be noted that any engineer, on this site or anywhere do not recommend this, its both reckless and silly, the fuse is there for a reason .. please , think of this.. yes, your ‘modification’ works like a stat, the original fuse cuts out when a fault occurs, what if your fuse sticks in the on position, and a fault occurs?
yup the problem becomes inflamed, and COULD become a safety hazzard
incidentally, we got a memo from samsung, quoting that any modification, by ANYBODY, and that included the use of non samsung spares, would invalidate ANY guarantee, manufacturers or extended, and would definitely exhonerate samsung from ANY liability in any way shape form or manner
my question to you (and others, who thought it clever to attatch pc fans with duct tape and leave trailing wires) is.. is it really worth it for a few quid more?
i know the answer.. do you?
