if the filter doesnt come out easily, theres something in there blocking it

unplug the machine, tip it back, remove the screws securing the pump, take off said pump, remove back pumpbase, refit, refit pump, presto.. easy really

just remember u need to unplug it for sure, and have lots of towels

    Re: HOTPOINT TC71P – stinks

    there’ll be fluff stuck somewhere
i mean, have u tried clenaing the condenser?

most people do, i just gotta ask
also clean the chamber where the condenser fits
also, when u pull out the fluff filter, which im sure youve cleaned, look down the hole, clean that out as well, as well as inside the door panel

the only other place (and u NEED TO UNPLUG) is the rear heater panel, its on the back (obviously) and sometimes, moist fluff will stick in there, try removiing it and give it a wash, just remember to make sure its dry when u refit it

    Re: HOTPOINT TC71P – stinks

😀 oh joy.. i had one of these not to long ago , in a farmhouse, ‘up lakes’

    horrid smell, really nasty

turned out a little field mouse had made its bed for the night under the fan in the back…

customer said they heard a crunching noise , just before the room filled with smoke and the smell appeared

oh the joy of scraping that little mouse off the heater… and the fan.. and the drum.. and the back panel

must have been quick for the poor thing

    was the red light flashing?

had a few of these hobs, customer was wiping it over and managed to activate the child lock

simple cure is to press the on/off button for 5 seconds, and it will come back on

well, all the 1703273 is change the front wheels to plastic support pads
it may have already been done

youd probably be better just fitting the belt and a new jockey wheel if its been done

well, according to gias website,(and theres an actual pic!) its shows it as the pcb, with 3 leds and other things, with a slim white plastic piece attatched to it, which then screws on to the bezel.. is that it?

if it is, the part number is 41010331

id ask hoover first… but its quite new that, cant be over 12 mths old?

well, first of all, id be checking the front vent

take off the kick strip on the bottom, it might well be clogged up with muck..

the trasum’s getting hot, thats possibly why the machine isnt cooling properly… there is a cooling fan which could well have failed, its external, and is seen when removing the lower back panel.

plug out if your gonna check it plz
