ParticipantRe: servis wiring
incidentally, all servis wiring harnesses, regardles of colour have the location printed on the wires themselves!!! that is of course if theres anything left of the cable!
ie th1 – thermistor/thermostat pos 1
or htl – heater live
that sort of thing
hope this helpshelo_75
ParticipantRe: fridge freezing
theres a motorised flap on the top left hand side of the fridge
trouble is, on the early models, it gets stuck open cos ice forms around it
later ones a had a low energy heater attatched to it to stop that
unplug it, and get a hairdryer, and heat it up and the ice will melt and the motorised baffle(flap) will close, dont manually force it please
they freeze in the fridge because its a blown air system, and the air is blown in from the freezer, and with it being stuck open, the fridge acts as a freezertheres no fix im afraid , just warm it up now and again, cover all your food up as well, that helps reduce condensation, so less chance of ice
trust me, ive seen a few

ParticipantRe: indesit dryer is60v seals
yep, v4
and like ive said before, the only way youll ever stop it scraping is to put the new drum in ( see previous posts)
lol, quality in vast amounts, eh

Participantthis has to stop… NOW
ill say this once more
my immediate concern with your ‘fix’ was with the fact that youd snipped wires and left them there, also leaving trailing wires n stuffid be greatly concerned if ANYBODY who was reading your post whod had trouble (and, as uve all read, theres plenty of em) considered your solution as a viable alternative
and thats the point i , and others tried to make
just supposing someone inflicted a quite serious injury trying to implent the same repair?
who would be to blame?
it will always be a grey area, im not saying it didnt and wont work for you, im saying that we , as ‘competent’ engineers need to consider public safety at all times, regardless of whether the information is free or paid for
i know u think im a little sarcastic in my responses, i just feel that there will always be people who take that kind of advice and use it badlyso, i’m gonna stop there… it was never about me being more clever or smarter than anyone else…
believe me, ive seen a lot of very nasty accidents inflicted on people who disregarded basic safety, and that will always be part of the reasoning behind any advice i , or any othe engineer might offer
an engineer that cares? believe it or not, most of us do ! this site has been created by people who do care, and want to help people.. and the horror stories we’ve seen (and theres some well documented in the trade area) make us more and more safety conscious, and , at every turn, that will always be paramount
thanx.

ParticipantRe: hoover caress
check the bottom plug on the pcb, the tub, for some unknown reason has a lip on it, right next to the bottom plug, and when its moved, it pulls the plug off
its the plug for the variable temp, so it wont heat, cos it cant read it
ive had that a few times
hope this helps

ParticipantRe: indesit dryer is60v seals
😕 the two seals in the kit (1703080?)
1 fits around the front air duct (its quite possible its fallen off, if its full off fluff, then its gone)
the other one fits on the rear panel, to a> push the drum further from the back panel, and b> more importantly makes a good air seal so the warm air circulates correctly
have a look, its quite obvious, and change the front plastic supports, they’re much better in the v4 kit

ParticipantRe: Not another Samsung SR2029CSS problem? ‘fraid so…
it will, because its blocked with ice behind the evaporator cover. it just so happens the fan is supposed to stop when the door is open (unless u’ve got some ridiculous 12v transformer with a pc fan taped into the inside with trailing wires) to try and stop the introduction of ‘warm’ air into the unit
thats why the fan winds down when u open upif you dont want to defrost for 48hrs (and some ppl dont, because they lose the freezer food) im sure the nice guys here can supply you with the the modified fan and evaporator cover
or
u could try the defrost thing to start with
then take it from there

helo_75
ParticipantRe: Samsung SR-S20
and still stupid and unnecessary
really people, pcs fans are for pcs’s not fridge freezers
and ill keep saying it , regardless of the nasty emails i got from certain people, these machines are easily repaired if your not too ‘smart’ to take the advice on offer
thanx
